This or That: Hask Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner vs Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner

Welcome to a fresh Monday post, where, for something different and a little bit fun, I'm actually getting the chance to compare two products, side by side, and honestly, there are no losers in this crowd! I mean, how could there possibly be anything negative, when it's all good stuff? Today, we get to talk about tow legends from Hask, and if you're in need of a refresher when it comes to Hask, you simply have to look over here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here for all my previous posts on Hask. As you can tell, I've been a massive fan for quite a while, and you might see some products that have been discontinued (that were good and should make a comeback!). It's been a great journey with Hask, and I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us in the coming years, because you can bet your boots I'll still be over here, in love with Hask!

So, let's get started, because I'm psyched to talk about these two cuties from Hask! If you haven't shopped at Priceline for Hask recently, you might not have seen that their staple sachets of hair treatments have morphed from the single use packets into what you're looking at right now - these gorgeous slim bottles that are recyclable, and can hold a lot more, with the added bonus of you no longer having to think about how to store it in the shower caddy so that you can keep it out of the way of running water. It's a shame that only two of the hair treatments are available in bottles at this point, but who's to say it won't happen gradually with the other deep conditioners? We can only hope!

The Hask Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner is touted as being infused with keratin, and it's meant to help repair damage, reduce breakage and static, so that it can leave the hair shiny, moisturised and looking sleek and frizz-free. It's also meant to be appropriate for processed, colour-treated hair. This comes in a pink plastic bottle that holds 236ml of product, and to use this, simply shampoo your hair, then smother it in the treatment, letting it sit for 10 minutes. Once your time's up, rinse it out, then style your hair as usual. I like that this has an almost peachy scent to it, which makes me happy, for some reason. This leaves my hair feeling soft, looking straighter, and less frizzy, which is to say that this does seem to work really well for me bleached, processed hair.

The Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner is said to be good for those needing to strengthen, restore and smooth the strands. It's great for conditioning the tresses, and it's supposed to hydrate the hair, as it's infused with rice protein and it can help combat the damage done to the hair by replenishing the lost moisture, so that you can have stronger and healthier hair. Much like the Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner, this comes in a blue plastic bottle that contains 236 ml of product, and you'd use it the same way. This doesn't have much of a fragrance to it, and it anything, smells like what I've come to expect argan oil to smell like. This has my hair feeling soft, but still has quite solid volume to it. I do still have a bit of flyaways, but my frizzy ends do look a bit less obvious.

I really like that I had the chance to do a comparison side by side, as they both serve very different purposes, and it's quite exciting to actually figure out what works best for me, depending on what I'm looking to target. I find that the Keratin Smoothing Deep Conditioner works best for when I'm trying to get a sleeker, more humidity resistant hair style, while the Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner is my preferred treatment for when I've abused my hair a little more than usual. These retail for about $22, and the good news is that Hask can often be found on sale (and sometimes in conjunction with other promotions)! What's your go to treatment from Hask?
