Review: Banila Co x The Powerpuff Girls Clean It Zero Pore Clarifying Cleansing Balm
Here's hoping for a better week. I closed out last week with bookends of sadness at work, where I started the week in tears, and ended it hugging a client when plans didn't go as we'd wanted them to and while I absolutely love what I do, being a veterinarian can be mentally, physically, and mostly, emotionally exhausting. I find it very hard to detach from my job, and there are many moments when my feelings get too much for myself to handle. Therefore, it's really important to have a support network that allows you to speak your mind, and hobbies to quiet the voices that haunt you.
It's also really important to make sure that you have waterproof mascara for all of those occasions at work, and for the moments where you simply want to take it all off when you get home, and wash your day away, it makes a huge difference to have something that makes life easier for you, and in this case, that's the Banila Co x The Powerpuff Girls Clean It Zero Pore Clarifying Cleansing Balm. I had to buy this, as I was hugely into Powerpuff Girls back in the day. I mean, who wasn't? Girl power, in cute little packages, kicking ass in the cartoon world? Heck yes!
And does that translate to good skincare when it comes to collaborations with Kbeauty brands? Spoiler - very much so! The Banila Co x The Powerpuff Girls Clean It Zero Original Cleansing Balm is said to be effective at removing impurities and makeup, even waterproof stuff, and it leaves the skin feeling clean, hydrated, soft and smooth. This is supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin, and it's not meant to clog pores, despite feeling so rich on the skin.
Like most cleansing balms, this comes as a solid block in a screw top jar, and this this case, it's a sweet little pink container, and mine has the cutest print of Blossom from the Powerpuff Girls on it. I love that this comes with a spatula to help you scrape the amount that you need, and this slices through it efficiently. It's really easy to use - simply place the desired amount in your hand, then rub them together before working it into the skin, concentrating on the areas that you would like to clean.
Once you're satisfied with how much you've worked it into the skin, then you can add a bit of water to it, to emulsify it, while you're still rubbing it into the skin in rotational strokes. When you're ready, just wash it off, and in my case, I like to do a bit of double cleansing with another cleanser, so I can really wash the day away. This is absolutely beautiful for removing my makeup and I love that this really doesn't leave a trace of my makeup on my skin. This retails for about $36, and you can find it where Kbeauty is sold, at multiple online retailers. Cleansing balms are gorgeous for babes with heavy duty makeup, or simply lazy girls, like myself, and this is no exception. Do you prefer a cleansing balm or a cleansing oil?
