Review: Gracious Minds Velvet Rose Restorative Body Oil
As I inch ever closer to my next break, which is essential for my mental health, I find myself needing a little something to propel my mind, and body, forward, and in the past, that was me simply going out and purchasing something as a pick me up. These days, I've been trying harder to feed my soul with something else, like looking at my holiday destination and researching additional activities that I could do, or disengaging from every day life by doing something nice for myself, which is also more commonly known as self care, and what self care currently looks like is taking a moment to reflect on what's good, while massaging skincare into my skin.
Sometimes, that also comes with a side of aromatherapy, and the Gracious Minds Velvet Rose Restorative Body Oil, which I picked up from The Iconic a while back, does both. This is a body oil that's designed to nourish your skin, while helping you reconnect with your body's natural rhythms, which is the perfect way for me to shut off from the noise of the world at the end of a very long work day, and bring myself back to life.
This made in Australia oily goodness has some really brilliant key ingredients in it to help you stay grounded and moisturised. Firstly, it has camellia seed oil, which is chock full of antioxidants to help stave off the free radicals that can damage skin, as well as omega 9 fatty acids, and vitamins A, D and E. It's works to deeply moisturise the skin, nourishing it so that the skin can stay soft, and help the skin with it's elasticity, and getting you that good glow. It also contains cedarwood to help with emotional balance and promoting inner strength and clarity, allowing the user to pause and reflect.
Rose geranium contributes by elevating mood, soothing and calming the mind, and letting the user stay centred. If that sounds delicious, you're not wrong! This comes packaged in a frosted glass bottle with a silver cap and this retails for $76 for 100ml. The pump produces a nice, but slightly small, amount with each push, and I love that the scent of this hits me straight off the bat. To me, it starts off almost smelling like juicy, sweet lychees, and then fades into a creamy rose that dries down and finishes off with some aromatic cedarwood.
There's no other way to put this than to simply say - I love it. It starts off as an oily oil, especially if you're not using it sparingly, then it dries down to simply feeling moisturised. I love that this makes my skin feel comfortable, and that every time I use it, I feel a sense of calm. It's the perfect way to shut out all the noise and madness when life has been a little too much, and I'm going to be sad when I've used it all up! I love products that can do more than one thing (the ultimate lazy girl hack!), and this definitely fits that category! What's your favourite body oil?
