Review: Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm

It's midweek, and somehow, I feel like I haven't had much sleep since the weekend, and it continues to go go go for me at this point, with me needing to tidy up the front room for a sleepover with my bestie's 13 year old as part of her annual birthday celebration, and I also have to sort out that pile that's been building up as part of my getting things ready for my next getaway. Always on the go! This means that I need to keep faking it until I'm making it, when it comes to looking awake, and my latest eye cream, the Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm, is here to help me take on the day.

So, when Mecca had their end of year sale a couple of months ago, I absolutely had to get the one thing I lusted after year after year - the Drunk Elephant Trunk. That's right! Every year, Drunk Elephant releases a limited edition collaboration with a luggage company, and then they fill it with all the gorgeous things that your skin needs to glow at it's very brightest, and this time, I managed to snag on for myself at 50% off, and I could not have been more chuffed with it! I mean, truly - what a bargain for both my skin and my travels, two things that I could not be more passionate about!

As I've now had the chance to travel with the suitcase a little bit - a Baboon to the Moon carry on sized 40l waterproof backpack, I can tell you that it's a hit, and the skincare is equally as delicious! The first thing I had to try, of course, was the Drunk Elephant Ceramighty AF Eye Balm, which promised to be firming, plumping, hydrating and smoothing, all while also being cruelty free. It uses a 3% ceramide blend, which is supposed to help fill in the spaces between skin cells, retaining elasticity in the skin and aiding in improving the skin barrier so as to maintain the moisture balance of the skin, preventing water loss.

This also has a 10% plant omega-lipid complex, which is chock full of fatty acids and antioxidants, and meant to help moisturise, soothe and soften the skin. And of course, there's also oat kernel oil and Vitamin F to help soothe, calm and moisturise the skin, keeping the skin hydrated while also improving it's texture, ultimately improving the appearance of fatigue around the eye area to help you look perkier than you feel. All of that is crammed into a tall white bottle with a purple twist top that twists to pop out the pump, and one push gets you enough to cover the entire under eye area on both sides.

The cream comes out thick and white, and I tap this into the skin over the course of a couple of minutes. This doesn't have an obvious scent, and I love that this does such a great job of keeping my skin moisturised! I want to say that this actually does seem to make the dark eye circles look a little less prominent, and this has also been helping the micro wrinkles around my eyes look a little smoother. It's a great maintenance product, and while I didn't think that this made a big difference initially, it's actually done more than I thought it would previously. This is definitely more on the luxe side, coming in at $107 for 15ml of product, and you can find it over at Mecca. What would you recommend from Drunk Elephant?
