Revisited: Hask Shea Butter and Hibiscus Oil Shampoo and Conditioner
I can still remember when I first discovered Hask - they had a Greek yoghurt range that I found exciting, and that was the start of a strong love affair with the brand. The range may now be discontinued, but my affection for the brand continues. While I have done numerous reviews on Hask products over the years, I actually haven't had the chance to revisit their hair care range for a while. Therefore, when I was offered the opportunity to do so recently, I leapt at it very quickly, because if someone asked you if you wanted to see a long lost love again, wouldn't you jump at the chance to do so?
In order to go in without being biased (although, that's a little too late, given that I have had plenty of good experiences with the brand, and that would undoubtedly colour my view on the range), I didn't read my previous post on the Shea Butter and Hibiscus Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. Instead, I set about trying them out without the influence of my previous review, so that I could actually enjoy the duo through fresh eyes.
Firstly, the range aims to utilise the anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties of shea butter, so that it can combat scalp irritation, which is something that I tend to notice more as it gets cooler, thanks to the dry air. It's also designed to help deal with split ends, dry hair, as well as hair fallout, while the hibiscus oil is meant to help boost collagen product and hair growth. The Hask range has very recognisable bottles, and I love that they never seem to leak!
This has quite a light fragrance to it, and I do like that this does lather up nicely, making it so that I could spread it over my shoulder length hair to wash all of it with ease. The conditioner has a nice consistency to it, and it coats the strands really well. All the lovely sensory things aside, however, I think my hair really does react beautifully to this quiet, but powerful, little duo. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding!
My hair LOVES them! This leaves my hair with some body, ready for that next hair flip, and it doesn't weigh it down at all. While this doesn't seem to add much of a shine to my hair, I have noticed that I've been dealing with less frizz and my hair looks a little sleeker, particularly at the end of my strands.I also went back through my previous thoughts on the range and compared my notes, and it's very gratifying to see that my hair still feels the same about this duo! It is currently on sale at Priceline for $8.50 each, and they retail for about $17 usually. Read all about my previous thoughts over here. How often do you find that you feel the same way about products that you've previously tried?
