Mother's Day with Burt's Bees
If you're reading this on Sunday the 12th of May, while enjoying your coffee and a leisurely breakfast, you'd better toss that piping hot cup of java back (carefully!), and haul ass, because it's Mother's Day, and let me tell you, moms invented being passive aggressive and the last thing you want to do today is have your mother tell you she isn't mad, but she's very disappointed!
All jokes aside, Happy Mother's Day to all the babes out there who are mothers, in any way, shape or form. As a cat mommy, and someone who is adamantly child-free, I really think that you should celebrate being you whenever you can, because you work hard looking after someone else, and no one else can live the same experiences that you do. I can honestly say that one of the main reasons that I'm not the parent of a human child is because it looks like an absolute truck load of work.
I mean, please prove me wrong, but the sheer number of mothers who say things like, I didn't realise it was going to be this hard, or I'm so tired I can't barely stand up - there's no denying it. When you have a dependent, or multiple little ones, or like me, you watch others going through it and know that it's not for you, being a mom can be taxing. That said, I know lots of people who say it's very rewarding, and today, of all days, should be a particularly bountiful one!
Burt's Bees has a couple of beautiful, budget friendly kit, the In Full Bloom set as pictured here and the Just Picked gift box, for all the hardworking mothers (and non-mothers - they don't discriminate!) out there, and sitting at just around $22, you get four beautiful balms tucked into a pretty, recyclable box that makes it an instant present, ready to delight the recipient. It even has a little cover that you can open, revealing a small box for the name of the giftee.
In Full Bloom contains some very fun, fruity flavours, including Tropical Pineapple, Strawberry (which is a personal favourite of mine), Dragonfruit Lemon, as well as their Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E and Peppermint. If you're after more of an island vibe, then the Just Picked kit may be a better match, given that it has Watermelon, Coconut & Pear, Sweet Mandarin and Pomegranate. Lip balms are always appreciated, and often go astray, so if you're after a last minute, excellent gift, then you might want to head around to where Burt's Bees is stocked to pick one up on your way to see mum. What's your favourite lip balm flavour?
