Review: Dr LeWinn's Hydrating Ceramide Mist

It has been a bit of a love-hate relationship with the weather currently here in Sydney! I don't know about how it is where you are (and hopefully it's lovely!), but it has been wet and cold and overcast. My favourite season is Summer, where the weather is hot, and sunkissed skin is everywhere, so it would stand to reason that my preferred temperature setting isn't what I'm currently being exposed to. That said, however, I have really been embracing what I refer to as Cuddle Cat Weather, with the rain and dark skies inspiring me to stay home, and well, cuddle my cat, and that's time well wasted.

What I don't quite appreciate with this weather at the moment, though is that the rain has been making everything slippery, while my skin is, conversely, going in the opposite direction. I've noticed that as I've gotten older that my skin reacts more to the weather extremes than it ever used to. For example, now, when the weather is hot and dry, my skin feels parched, and when it is cold and frigid, my face feels tight and uncomfortable.

I'm definitely all for moisturising my skin regularly, and believe me, I use some heavy duty beauty (deauty?) products, but I do need something to top it up with during the day, and when you have a face full of make up, this can be rather tricky. Enter the Dr LeWinn's Hydrating Ceramide Mist to save the day! Made to hydrate, protect and strengthen the skin from daily environmental aggressors and pollutants, this has a formula that is infused with ceramides, hyaluronic acid, tripeptide-8 and provitamin B5 so that  you can be left with soft, glowing skin that has a better barrier.

Hyaluronic acid is great for hydrating and plumping the skin, while the ceramides are present to help strengthen the skin barrier and help keep the skin moisturised. The provitamin B5 provides moisture, while helping to condition the skin and reduce inflammation. Last but not least, the tripeptide-8 is a useful addition for collagen stimulation. This comes in the form of a spray, housed in a white plastic bottle with a large pull off cap. The word mist is misleading here, as it doesn't have a misting effect, but that is apparently largely due to the fact that this uses airless pump technology, which is meant to maintain the freshness of the product and deliver precise dosage. To use this, shake it well, then spray it a few times before spritzing the face with it, so that you can 'prime' the pump.

This results in it being a bit of a heavier spray than I'd like, but I do appreciate that this doesn't seem to mess up my makeup. I've been using this at least twice daily, sometimes up to five times daily, on my skin, and I have enjoyed how moisturising this has been for my skin - I only wish it was a more intense and long lasting sort of hydration! It is nice to have this as a quick pick me up for the skin throughout the day at least! This sits at just under $50 for 100 ml of product, and it can be purchased from retailers like Chemist Warehouse. What is your preferred way to keep that skin feeling soft and moisturised?
