Review: Clean & Pure Go Plastic Free Lip Balms
I love that being environmentally friendly is really the norm these days, and that people are always striving to do better and go greener. It truly is the case where letting the people vote with their wallets is paying off, and that the general public is aiming to be better, and holding companies accountable to try and make the right changes so that we will have be able to leave a legacy behind that isn't just us destroying habitats and waterways. Trying to find a way to make it a more sustainable planet is a work in progress for us all.
Reducing the amount of plastic that we put out into the world, while small, is a good start, and I have tried a number of different plastic free/packaging free/cardboard encased products in the past, and these may be some of my favourites so far. If you are new to Clean & Pure, this is a good place to start, or if you're interested in reading previous posts about them, you can find those over here and here. Just what is the fuss with the Clean & Pure Go Plastic Free Lip Balms?
There are five different lip balms in total - Tinted Strawberry, Manuka Honey, Coffee and Coconut, Pawpaw and Manuka Honey and Zinc (SPF 15). Much like the predecessors to these lip balms, they contain locally sourced beeswax, extra virgin olive oil and cocoa seed butter. These are manufactured in Australia using 100% renewable solar energy, and, fun fact, it's the most affordable mass market Australian lip care brand to utilise positive impact biodegradable packaging - isn't that cool?
These short and chubby tubes (which are super duper cute!) are easy to use - simply uncap it, then push the product up via the bottom of the tube to slide the lip balm out. The formula is as good as it ever was, and plot twist, as much as I love the Manuka Honey version, the real standout for me at the moment is the Tinted Strawberry - I love this as the final step of my makeup for the morning, adding that last slick of balm before hitting the road.
The Tinted Strawberry has vitamin E and strawberry essential oil in it, and that slight pop of colour, with the extra hit of moisture on the lips, makes this a lovely start to my work journey. The only real downside that I have with these balms is that the cardboard packaging is that they don't travel as well as the plastic ones, and I tend to chuck a lot of things into my handbag as I go along, which means that the lippies can get a little crushed. Perhaps it's a good wake up call to remind to not overload my bag? These babies retail for $6.99 each, and you can find them over here. Which would be your pick?
