Review: Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Clay Mask

I have tried many, MANY masks over the years, and the one type of mask I keep gravitating back to is of the mud variety. I feel like this probably stems from me wanting to keep my pores happy and unclogged, and I love the concept of this helping me keep my pores clean. I will say that not all clay masks are created equal, and based on that alone, I think I really do need to try as many as I can that's currently available on the market - I mean, in the name of research, obviously!

A while back, I was having a bit of a moment with Kiehl's, and I was flicking through their website when I remembered once trying their Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Clay Mask, and that prompted me to click add to cart, because while the sample was little, it was something I recalled enjoying. Now that I've treated myself to a full sized jar of this, I can honestly say that it wasn't a mistake - the Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Clay Mask is worth forking over the dough!

This comes in a white jar with a grey screw lid, and this is a clay face mask that's meant to help purify the skin, decongesting the it, while minimising the appearance of pores. Formulated with white clay that's been sourced from the mouth of the Amazon River, this is also supposed to help improve skin texture and Bentonite can keep the skin balanced. The mask is also infused with aloe vera to keep the skin soothed and hydrated.

This doesn't have a very earthy scent to it, which some clay masks can, and it is quite easy to smooth over the skin. I like that while this does dry down a bit, this doesn't end up stiffening and tightening my skin and conversely drying it out. Instead, I feel like this has been beneficial for the pores, particularly around my nose, and I love that it's helping to keep my skin feel clear, without causing any tingling or discomfort.

I find that my skin has taken to this mask quite well, and that it's dealing with the little hormonal blemishes that I occasionally get with some efficiency. This is actually quite a light mask, and for just $69, you get quite a generous jar of product that comes in at 125 ml. Kiehl's is available at a number of different retailers, including Myer, Adore Beauty, and Mecca. What Kiehl's product would you recommend to others?
