Review: Ren Bio Retinoid Youth Serum

Brrr... If you're not spending your evenings inside, curled up on your couch with a heated throw and a good glass of wine in one hand, or hot beverage of your choice, while patting your pets with the other, as you're watching the TV series of your choice, are you even doing Autumn right? Or am I just a total home body that just enjoys introverted moments with my other half and my outrageously handsome little cat?

Speaking of doing Autumn right, this is as good a time as any to remind you that you should be changing up your skincare products, now that the weather is cooling down substantially, and it's starting to dry out my skin a little bit. I have started opting for slightly heavier products, and harder hitting creams that will help serve as a barrier between my skin and environmental irritants. I have also been trying out a serum that is said to deliver results that would parallel those of retinol, and that serum is the Ren Bio Retinoid Youth Serum.

Designed to help visibly even skin tone and reduce the appearance of pigmentation and fine lines, while plumping and smoothing sensitive skin, this contains Bidens Pilosa, which is a plant based alternative to retinol, and it also has ceramides and niacinamide. The niacinamide helps to protect against the damaged caused by free radicals, as well as improve the brightness of the skin, while the ceramides, which come from wheatgerm, can help strengthen the skin barrier, increase skin hydration and soothe irritation.

This comes in a clear glass bottle with a pump that dispenses a small amount with each pump, and I find that about three pumps to work well for the area that I need to cover. It has a mild citrus scent, which I quite like, and the consistency of this is thin, which makes it easy to spread over my face, and a breeze for my skin to absorb. I like that this doesn't leave a sticky residue on the skin, and it's light, fluid nature makes it an easy serum to love.

Over the last six or so weeks, I have been using this daily, and I have noticed that my skin has been feeling more resilient, particularly given that I've been getting on planes and exposing it to spa water, as well as facing cooler, drier conditions. I do love that this has been helping me keep my fine lines at a minimum, while keeping it feel better moisturised. It's available from Mecca here in Australia, and for $134, 30 ml of this could be yours. Do these ingredients sound like they would work well for you?
