Review: Maison Louis Marie No. 04 Bois de Balincourt Body Oil
Happy Sunday! I know that the weather out there is miserable, but as I'm spending my day inside, baking, blogging and generally bludging, I am delighted that it is the perfect weather for introverts who simply want to spend time doing what they love - having the telly on for a bit of background noise and excitement, while focusing on the task ahead of them, whether that's whisking, or banging out a new blog post with the rhythmic strokes of the keys.
It's also the sort of day where luxuriating around in your own skin (and fuzzy, cuddly clothes) is practically the law, and on days like this, I like to lounge around and marinate in skincare, letting my skin soak up all that goodness and moisture, and I don't just mean having a makeup free day where I can truly let my skin breathe. I'm also letting it bathe in the newest acquisition in my body care rotation, and that's the Maison Louis Marie No. 04 Bois de Balincourt Body Oil.
Don't even ask me to pronounce it, because it's not in my scope to do it justice, but I can certainly make up for that by waxing lyrical about how gorgeous this body oil is! This comes in a plain matte cream cardboard box with simple black lettering on it, and the body is clear with a flip lid, making it a very easy product to get out of the box. The oil looks like liquid gold - a warm, light amber that pours over the skin, and smooths over it beautifully.
This isn't a dry oil, but it's not a very greasy one either. It depends on how much you pour out of it in one shot, and believe me, you don't need much to appreciate how gorgeous this really is. It has top notes of sandalwood and cedarwood, which come through first, followed by a hint of vetiver, a light drizzling of nutmeg and cinnamon and amber wood. More than just pretty scent, this has been infused with antioxidants and vitamin E to help hydrate and moisturise the skin, while also fending off free radicals to help repair the skin and fight against the ageing process.
This contains a number of different oils, including grapeseed oil, avocado oil, evening primrose oil and meadowfoam oil, just to name a few. My skin seems to react well to this, and it has definitely appreciated being nourished by it over the last month, and my skin is feeling smooth and soft as a result of using this. I also love the scent, and I've been saving it for moments when I really want to spoil myself. Vegan and cruelty free, this retails for $86 for 118ml of product and can be found at Sephora over here. What's your go to treat yourself body oil?
After a few months of using a liposomal glutathione supplement, I can already see that it has improved the appearance of my skin. Your product has made my fine wrinkles appear less prominent, and my skin tone appear lighter. After reading that Lypo-Spheric® uses liposomal delivery, the most effective method for glutathione absorption, I decided to try it. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
