Review: Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Face Primer

The dewy skin obsession continues, particularly now that we've descended into the cold depths of Winter. Winter, as they say, has come, and it is dry, and my skin is struggling a little to stay as radiant as it can be when the weather is warm and the sun is out. This is around the time when I pull out all the stops and look at adding skin brightening products into other areas of my life, like as part of my primer, so that my skin can glow with minimal make up.

As someone who has had very positive experiences with Ole Henriksen over the years, I was keen to try their Banana Bright Face Primer, and I purchased it a couple of months ago with the view to using it help my skin look it's best. I chose this as I felt like this was the epitome of a skincare/makeup hybrid, and that this, with it's skin loving ingredients, would look after my complexion, while helping my skin look it's best on the outside.

This is designed to help minimise the appearance of fine line and wrinkles, and it is appropriate for babes with a variety of skin types, including combination, dry, normal and oily. It comes in an orange tube that holds 30ml of product for $55, and there is a decent pump that puts out a dollop that is enough to cover the face. This has a cream consistency, and it smooths over the face really nicely.

It contains vitamin C, which is meant to help target the visible signs of ageing, while also helping to brighten the skin over time, as well as banana powder-inspired pigments, which is supposed to instantly illuminate and colour correct. There is also vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant, and helps to fight free radicals, while nourishing and conditioning the skin, and additionally, this can help to stabilise the vitamin C in the formula.

This has a pleasant, slightly sweet citrusy scent to it, and I find it quite refreshing early in the morning. Unlike silicone based primers, this doesn't leave my skin feeling slippery smooth, nor does it have a sticky sensation to it to provide a 'grip'. Instead, this feels like a regular cream, and it layers beautifully. This doesn't have a shimmery appearance to it, but it does leave my skin looking more luminous and generally brighter. I love that this does something nice for my skin while helping alleviate the dullness that creeps in with Winter. You can find it over here. Would you be keen to use this primer?
