Review: The Seated Queen Cold Cream Cleanser
Happy Sunday, my little peaches! The weather this weekend has been... interesting. I mean, it's been cool, hot, and windy, so it's practically like living in Melbourne! No shade to Melbourne, but the different outfit options I have to take with me whenever I head that way can be quite hefty. In any case, it does show that Spring, in fact, is in full swing, and I still need to rely on some transitional weather products, rather than seguing into Summer skin things, and as such, it's been really helpful to have The Seated Queen Cold Cream Cleanser in my rotation.
It's there's anything that I love, it's trying something new and fun in the skin care world, and of course, y'all know that despite this hardworking exterior, I truly am a lazy girl at heart, so when there are exciting, multi-purpose products that promise to do wondrous things for my skin, with little effort, then, well, you can bet that I'd be right there, front and center! Said to have three functions, namely being suitable as a makeup remover and cleanser (good for the first and second cleanse), as well as being helpful as a 10 minute facial, in addition to being an overnight mask, this is ideal for babes with tired, dull and dehydrated skin looking for a boost.
The Seated Queen Cold Cream Cleanser is an oil-rich cleansing cream, and this is chock full of botanical actives that are steeped in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants. Meant to help revive dull and dehydrated skin, this is also supposed to soothe and moisturise the skin as it cleanses, which means that you're not left with dry, unhappy skin after taking your makeup off. It's also supposed to help plump, while restoring and strengthening the skin's barrier, improving it's elasticity. This contains some beautiful cold pressed ingredients, such as organic borage seed oil, safflower seed oil, argan kernel oil, rosehip oil, apricot kernel, sunflower seed oil and shea butter.
The cream is a dense white, and scented with a blend of rose otto, lavender, clary sage, bergamot, chamomile, patchouli and frankincense essential oils, an appropriate mix to help you settle in for the evening. While it is quite thick, you can certainly use just a thin layer to remove your make up, massaging it into dry skin before removing it with a warm, damp cloth. Alternatively, you can start off with damp skin, leaving a thin layer of this on the skin for five to ten minutes, or even overnight if you'd rather, before removing it he same way, with a moistened cloth.
The delicious fragrance is the first thing I notice, and this cool cream spreads easily over the skin, despite being quite thick. All you really need is just a small amount, which covers the face adequately. My face LOVES this - it cleanses the skin gently at the end of a long day, and my favourite way to use it is as an overnight mask, because my skin ends up being so soft and gorgeous when I wake up in the morning. It's a case of less is more when it comes to this, and while the frosted jar with the white cap may be small and unassuming, it's meant to last you for about 100 uses. Made in the UK, this vegan and cruelty free cream is packed with sustainably sourced ingredients that are minimally processed, and therefore said to help retain potency. You can find it over at David Jones here in Australia. What's your go to multi-purpose product?
