Review: Ole Henriksen Dewtopia 25% Acid Flash Facial Mask

Happy Sunday! As you're reading this, I'm probably recovering from a long week, while also cat sitting, and trying to get my hearing back after being at a concert last night. I don't know that I talk about this much, but I'm a big country music fan, and when I get the chance to, I like to head to country festivals and concerts, because it's such a good way to support the arts and find new acts that are worth listening to. That said, it's reasonable to assume that I'd probably be quite worn out, lying on a couch somewhere. This also means that my skin would be in need of a bit of a boost, and thankfully, I have just the thing for that!

In steps the Ole Henriksen Dewtopia 25% Acid Flash Facial Mask! This is a fast acting, potent at home treatments that is comprised of a blend o 25% AHAs, PHAs and BHAs. Together, they work to help boost the radiance of the skin, keeping it bright, while also improving it's texture and helping to reduce the appearance of discolouration, fine lines, pores and blemishes. This is also meant to help clarify the skin, and control excess oil, keeping it balanced.

In addition to those delicious ingredients, there are also plenty of calming ones, such as aloe vera and hyaluronic acid to help soothe, hydrate and nourish the skin, as well as Scandinavian Rowanberry extract, which is designed to keep the skin supple, moisturised and dewy. This mask comes packaged in a frosted jar with a screw lid, and once you take that off, inside lies an iridescent pool of thick, viscous softness that doesn't take much effort to spread over the skin.

To use it, simply apply an even layer to the skin, and let it sit for the five minutes, while the subtle lemon sugar scent gently surrounds you. Once it reaches five minutes, you can wipe it off with a damp washcloth. It's recommended that you use this 2-3 times a week, and given that this contains an AHA, it can increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun, increasing your chances of getting sunburnt. With that in mind, make sure you use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors, and limit the amount of direct sunlight you get. It's also recommended that you use this in the evening.

It does seem to help with keeping my skin smooth and bright, while also staying moisturised. Made for combination, dry, normal, oily and sensitive skin, this is vegan and cruelty free, and available at a number of retailers, including Sephora and Adore Beauty, for $65. It's a beautiful, mesmerizing mask that looks gorgeous in the jar, and does an even better job on the skin. A mask that works and won't break the bank! Do you have an Ole Henriksen mask in your rotation?
