Review: Viviology Exfoliating Enzyme Mask
A new season is coming, it's just around the corner, and I can feel it in the air! While Winter in Australia tends to be a very puzzling affair - I mean, no one has central heating, all the houses are constantly cold, people seem unprepared for the onslaught of wind and cold each and every time... It's also a bit of a juxtaposition with some of the brilliant days that we get in the midst of all that, a shiny blue skyed, cloudless gem where beach volleyball is still a very real thing in the middle of the oldest season here in Sydney.
Soon, those bright, beautiful days will become a constant, and so, it's time to start prepping for your own Spring cleaning of the skin, where it's out with the old, and in with the new and soft. I recently bought the Viviology Exfoliating Enzyme Mask, because I wanted to try something from an Australian brand that I had no experience with. This is said to be a glow enhancing, gentle exfoliating face mask that's cruelty free and vegan.
This contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), namely lactic acid and mandelic acid, as well as fruit enzymes, which are comprised of pineapple enzyme, paw-paw extract, pumpkin enzyme, citrus extracts and sugar cane extract. Together, these are meant to gently exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and allowing for the fresh layer of skin to accept your next layer of skincare readily,so that you can have brighter, more luminous skin. It also has Australian native botanicals, such as quandong extract and Tasmanian kelp extract, which can help to calm and soothe the skin.
Additionally, there's also panthenol (Vitamin B5), macadamia seed oil, jojoba oil and glycerin to help moisturise and nourish the skin, so that it would be left hydrated and supple. To keep the skin calm, the ingredient list also includes bilberry fruit extract, aloe vera, sea buckthorn oil and chamomile flower extract. This mask is also meant to help keep the skin clear, while also minimizing the appearance of pores. Combined, this makes for one great pick me up for the skin!
This delicious mask comes in an opaque white tube with a flip lid. When squeezed, it produces a bright yellow mask of thin to medium consistency. This is easy to apply over the skin, and while it does cause a little bit of tingling, it doesn't last for very long, and after about 10 minutes, I wash it off, and I'm rewarded with smoother, brighter skin. It's a great mask, and one that I really enjoyed using when I was skin, and my skin was looking dull and sad. Sitting at $60 for 75ml of product, you can find it over here on Adore Beauty. Have you tried anything from Viviology before?
