Review: Odacite SPF 50 Mineral Drops Tinted Sunscreen
When I look back over the years of blogging and beauty, it's amazing to see what's changed over time, and that's just over the span of ten plus years. We've seen the overly contoured, heavily highlighted look come and go, and come back somewhat modified. We've also seen foundation go from being all day, full coverage (and then some) being in vogue, to the rise in the popularity of BB creams, followed by CC creams, which has then evolved into base products being hybrid skincare/makeup items that can provide anything from sheer to full coverage and everything else in between.
It truly has been a bit of a wild ride for the world of foundation, but one thing remains the same - beauty companies continue to try and out compete one another, creating bigger and better products, resulting in the consumer having endless choices, so that they can customise what they want to use according the needs that they have to target. Simply put, this just means that we get to choose what we want to use and if there's nothing on the market that grabs you, all you have to do is wait a bit and I'm sure something will come along.
As someone who doesn't use a lot of base products, and who tends to gravitate towards sheer coverage when worn, it's been a joy to see so many products crop up over time that do something good for the skin, while also helping to even skin tone to provide a flawless base. The latest product that I've tried is the Odacite SPF 50 Mineral Drops Tinted Sunscreen, and this little beauty has been wonderful to use. At first glance, it looks like the range is only little, with simply five shades in the collection. However, these are Flex-Perfecting® Shades that utilize colour-adapting pigments, resulting it it blending to match your skin tone.
I received this in 02, which ideal for those with light to medium skin tones. It's a multi-tasker, with SPF 50 UVA/UVB protection, as well as having delicious ingredients that can help repair sun damage. These include niacinamide to even skin tone, green tea to combat free radical damage, and chamomile and calendula to soothe the skin, helping to comfort it, while reducing the appearance of inflammation and irritation. This comes in an opaque white pump bottle that holds 30 ml of product. I find one pump to be sufficient for covering the entire face, and it is advised that you shake up the bottle before application.
I find using my fingers to apply this to be the easiest way to work it into the skin. This has a smooth, watery, velvety consistency, and it blends beautifully into the skin, leaving it with a natural finish that simply has a light coverage. I love that this doesn't feel cakey, nor does it crease. It adapts well to my skin colour, and overall, it's a comfortable, easy base product to wear. Sitting at just around $90 makes it a little exxy, but it is well worth it, especially if you're looking for a product that isn't thick, results in a natural finish, wears well, and does something good for the skin. You can read more about it over here. Does this sound like something you'd try?
