Review: Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream

So, I absolutely can, and do, change my skincare routine as I get older, not just when the weather fluctuates. That primarily is me adding things in, rather than taking them out, but still, I can be flexible! For example, I have been using an essence in my routine since the start of the year, and about two years ago, I added a day cream to my routine, rather than relying on my SPF alone to keep my skin moisturised, and it has been such a game changer for my skin!

I was recently given the chance to try a stack of goodies from Beauty Amora, and among it was the Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream, and it's been a seriously good cream for my skin! Formulated for babes with sensitive skin, this cream is said to help hydrate the skin, while strengthening the skin barrier to help prevent moisture loss. This cream contains 93% naturally derived ingredients and minimal ingredients to balance, hydrate and soothe skin. This has panthenol (Vitamin B5), which helps to hydrate the skin, and there's also madecassoside, which is a derivative of centella asiatica, and this can assist in repairing skin damage. The addition of sunflower seed oil and shea butter means extra nourishment for the skin, so that it can be kept soft and smooth. It has also been formulated at a low pH to help keep the skin balanced, as well as being free of potential irritants, fragrance and artificial colour.

Sitting at $22 for 30 ml of product, this comes in what I would consider one of the coolest tubes I've ever used! While it may appear like a plain white tube on the outside, with a flip lid to complete the look, you'll soon realise that you're unable to prise it open like you would any other tube. Instead, you have to turn the entire cap, and the lid just pops open on it's own. It's basically magic! How amazing is that? Then, all you need to do is squeeze the tube, and apply it onto the skin.

Prior to using this, my experience with barrier creams was that of thick, clumpy cream that would often leave a layer on the skin. Instead, this has more of a gel-cream consistency, and I love that this spreads over the skin really nicely. It takes me a couple of minutes to absorb this, and I love that it doesn't leave the skin feeling oily, greasy or like there were a physical layer on the skin. I have noticed that since I started using this, my skin has stayed better hydrated on my 12 hour days at work. It's rich, without being thick, and my face is loving it! Have you tried a barrier cream before?
