Review: HiSmile PAP+ Whitening Strips
Ok, so we have officially hit holiday season, and you know what that means! Without any restrictions on how we can socialise with other people this year means having to dodge more things than just COVID - uncomfortable discussions about our personal lives, hugs with people you don't want to be touching, and of course, trying to hide the fact that you've just been flat out trying to catch up on the last few years, and haven't had the chance to actually deal with the little things, such as having your teeth whitened.
Thankfully, in the modern world, there are plenty of options to help us out in a pinch, and one of my favourite teeth whitening brands, HiSmile, dropped their PAP+ Whitening Strips a few months ago, and it's been my new favourite way to get teeth whitening done on the go! I've only just had the chance to get around to writing about it, though, thanks to hitting the bottom of the box, which is always a good reminder that I need to get the word out.
They claim to not cause any gum irritation or tooth sensitivity, and it's absolutely true. Each box contains 14 treatments, and they are slim little things that you can slip into your bag so that you can literally do this anywhere. If, like me, you've had experience with the early days of at home teeth whitening products, then you'd remember how awkward some of these were, how bulky and how tricky they were to use. I remember being unable to talk while I had them in my mouth, and how they made me salivate excessively - TMI, I know, but it's a honest review and it helps to know that it's not like how it once was.
It's really easy to use - all you have to do is tear the little tab open, slide the sheet of plastic out, then peel the desired strip away from the plastic backing before placing it over the teeth you're looking to whiten. One pro tip I'd offer up is to make sure that you hover it in place before you firmly press it down, because it's very sticky and it will adhere to your teeth in a flash. I both love and hate this, because you don't skip a beat using this - you'd barely notice it in your mouth the whole 30 minutes you're wearing this. However, once your time is up, it takes a little bit of work to figure out how to lift it from your teeth in order to peel it off.
That is literally the only drawback, and given that you're left with a slightly brighter and whiter smile, 20 seconds of fumbling around your teeth is no hardship. It's something you can use literally anywhere and I'm contemplating putting one into my carry on to load onto the plane the next time I'm due for a long haul flight. HiSmile can be found at various retailers, including Sephora and their own online store, and this retails for $49. I do prefer the whitening kit that they have, but this is a great on to go alternative. What's your favourite teeth whitening product?
