Review: Bioderma Hydrabio Ultra-Concentrate Hydrating Serum
How great, and confusing, is Spring? It's hot, it's cold, we've all had storms, and the winds have been a little wild. And that's even before we consider the hail that we've had in Sydney! It should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that our skin has probably been freaking out. Mine is also a little stressed after all of the travelling I've been doing, and while my mental health is at an all time high, my complexion doesn't appear to be on the same wavelength! As much as I've been piling on the hydration and masks and oils, I've also been mindful, while I've been away, to stick with products that are meant to help keep the skin feeling bouncy and juicy.
I've been using the Bioderma Hydrabio Ultra-Concentrate Hydrating Serum, and much like the rest of the range, this has been fabulous for keeping my skin feeling moisturised - more so, as this is such an essential part of my skincare routine. Meant to help your skin stay hydrated through the daily challenges of life, such as UV exposure, fluctuations in the temperature and movements, this serum is said to help the skin look radiant and moisturised.
It starts with strengthening the skin barrier through the inclusion of niacinamide, which, in turn, is then meant to maintain the hydration level in the skin better by preventing the loss of moisture. Niacinamide is also supposed to prevent irritation, while squalene can act like a lipid, fight off free radical and soothe the skin. There's also hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which are present to help attract and retain water for hydrating the skin. Additionally, there's prebiotic sugar and fructooligosaccharides to help maintain the balance of the microbiome, as well as it's quality.
This serum is excellent for daily wear! I find it fantastic for combating cold and dry air, such as what we had during the Winter, and this has been a great pick me up for the skin. This comes in a slim, light blue tube with a white pump, and each push of it delivers a nice amount that covers my face. This serum has a light and silky consistency, ensuring that it sinks into the skin quickly, making it so that there isn't a trace of it left behind. I also love that this doesn't react with any other bits of skincare, and that when layered with other products in the range, my skin feels incredibly hydrated.
I've been using this twice daily, and I can definitely see myself finishing it! I love that it packs quite a punch, especially for something that's so quiet and not very showy. Overall, for just under $55, this is one I would recommend for those with skin that needs a push of hydration. It can be found where Bioderma is sold, including Priceline and Atomica.
