Review: RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek

ow did everyone go over the weekend, with the drop in temperatures? Did y'all rug up and stay inside, getting cosy with your cats/significant others? Or did you brave the cold to enjoy the bright sunshine, and the remnants of Summer? I did a little bit of both - I spent a lot of my Saturday at work, and intermittently headed back to clinic to check in on a little guy, so I got a bit of sun anyway. I also went to the pound to drop off a lot of goodies to help them out, and managed to sneak a little nap in somewhere. Life can be so full on! On weekends, particularly when I have lots going on, I like to pare it back quite a lot  and actually go a little more bare faced and sit in my skincare, if possible.

This means that when I go out, I either don't wear anything, because my skin is pretty decent and I want my natural glow to come through, or I put on the bare minimum to even out the dark eye circles, and have the slightest flush of colour on my cheeks to make myself look more alive and awake, and the RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek has been helping me achieve that look. I received this as part of my Mecca Beauty Loop freebie, and for those who may not be aware of what it is, it's a loyalty programme that Mecca, one of the major beauty retailers here in Australia, runs, and they have four tiers available, depending on how much you spend within a certain period. I'm a relatively high spender, and therefore, I sit at level three, which means that I get some very decent goodies intermittently when they send us emails to notify people that they can head in store to pick them up, which is maybe about four times a year.

The RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek isn't the kind of thing I would have thought about purchasing for myself, but it's a great discovery through the programme, and one that I've been using regularly since I got it. This is a little multitasker, that, as you can tell from the name, works as a cream product that gives the cheeks and lips a flushed of colour and hydration. This comes in a frosted glass jar with a screw top lid, and I love that the colour is buildable, and blends easily into the skin. It gives me a dewy finish, making it look really natural, enhancing what I already have.

If you're after something more intense, you can layer it on without it looking thick or cakey, to the point where it's brighter on the skin, but my preference is for it to just give my skin a hint of colour. The formula contains wildcrafted buriti oil, which is steeped in Vitamin E, beta-carotene and essential fatty acids to help keep the skin barrier healthy. It's also meat to improve skin elasticity, while nourishing the skin, and protecting it against antioxidants. There's also organic shea butter, which is great for moisturising the skin, and organic cocoa seed butter, which is chock full of antioxidants and fatty acids, and great for keeping the skin deeply conditioned, while also fighting off free radicals.

This comes in six different shades, and the one that I have is Beloved, which is a bright red that's actually really toned down when applied as a sheer layer. I think that this works well as a blush on the go, and would be great for touch ups when you're out and about. It's my go to now when I'm keeping things simple, and I've gotten into the habit of chucking this into my handbag when I know that I'll be out during the day. It retails for $69 and you can find it over here. Do you have days where you prefer less over more?
