Review: Clinique Set The Day Makeup Setting Spray

I've been on the go lately, and it's been busy! I don't think my immune system is entirely up to scratch, and if I'm being totally honest, I think I could use a bit more sleep. Alas, life goes on, and you have to still work to bring home the bacon and get your errands done and keep all dependents in your life upright and alive. Just remember to rest when you're not feeling 100 percent - if only I'd take my own advice! At least when the going gets tough, there's always the Clinique Set The Day Makeup Setting Spray to make life a little easier!

If you're not a regular setting spray user, take this as your cue to start using one! I've been a long term Skindinavia babe (their stuff is legit!), and I will always return to it, but I do love trying out new products, and I got a tingly bit of excitement when I saw the Clinique Set The Day Makeup Setting Spray on the Adore Beauty website, and decided that I just had to have it. This is a fragrance free setting spray that's meant to help set, protect and refresh the skin, and it all comes packaged in a lilac purple bottle with a clear pull off cap.

The formula is infused with aloe water, which is meant to help hydrate the skin, keeping it comfortable, while there's a blend of vitamin E and antioxidants to protect the skin from environmental aggressors, such as blue light and pollution. This is really easy to use - simply shake it up a little bit, then hold it about 30 cm from your skin before spritzing it in the shape of an X, followed by that of a T, to make sure that you're getting even coverage all over your face. This is the second last step I do just prior to applying my mascara, which is basically like the icing on the (face) cake.

I love that this comes out as a fine mist, which means that it's very lightweight on the skin, and I find that about four pumps to be perfect for helping my daily makeup stay on my skin without shifting, even after a 12 hour shift at work. This is meant to be transfer resistant, sweat resistant and humidity proof, and I find that my skin breathes easily with this, and that it never feels like it's clogging my skin. It's comfortable and it does seem to help my makeup grip to my face a little better.

I like that this can also be used as a bit of a refresher for the day, when my skin is feeling a little tight and unhappy. I find this to be quite soothing for my skin, and I like that it has some flexibility with how you can use it. If you're not sure, you can always go for the travel size bottle, which is about $35, while the 97ml bottle comes in at $54. This can be found where Clinique is available, including Mecca, Adore Beauty and at various Clinique makeup counters, including at David Jones and Myer. When did you start using a setting spray?
