Review: Innisfree Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Cream

The weather has been... interesting. We haven't quite hit that point where things are cold and dry, but so cold that it actually feel damp - you know what I mean? Rather, we're at the bit in transitional weather when it's cold, a little wet, and also occasionally a little dry. This means that my skin has to be prepared for just about any kind of environmental situation. At times like this, I find that it's easier to have a cream with a bit more of a gel-like texture than a heavier version.

The Innisfree Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Cream is the latest hit in my rotation, and it's one that also ticks a lot of boxes for me. This is designed to help revitalise dull skin, taking it back to being bright by fading dark spots and pigmentation and improving skin tone, and giving the complexion a radiant glow. It's a gel cream that's filled with encapsulated Vitamin C that would burst on contact, helping to keep the skin bright. This also has hyaluronic acid, to help keep the complexion hydrated.

It's said to be suitable for babes with all skin types, including those who have sensitive skin, or are acne prone. It comes in a frosted outer jar that holds a refillable pod, which means you no longer have to chuck the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to recycling packaging. Once you're done with it, you simply just have to pop it out, and replace it with a new one, without getting rid of the entire jar. It's not a new design to me, but it's still one that I don't see very often. Once it has been unscrewed, it reveals a clear gel cream dotted with orange Vitamin C spheres.

Aside from Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, the formula also includes green tea enzyme, which is meant to help encourage skin turnover, resulting in a complexion that has better clarity. This has a true gel cream texture, which starts off a little cool, and dries down very nicely. It does feel a little tacky, without being sticky, and it's comfortable on the skin. Absorption take under a minute, and my skin does seem to stay bright with it's use.

I love that this has a light citrusy scent to it - not enough to be overpowering, and just right, to make you feel like you're somewhere tropical, or at the very least, sipping on a tropical cocktail, or a mocktail, if that's your vibe. I love that this is is hydrating, without feeling thick or cloying on my skin. For $43 for 50 ml of product, I love how much my skin seems to like it, and I will be finishing the jar. It's currently available where Innisfree can be found, including Adore Beauty and Sephora. What's your favourite gel cream?
