Review: Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Cream
Just what is it about April that makes it feel so very hectic? Was it the travel I did at the end of March, where we zipped across to Western Australia for a quick two night stay in Busselton? Or the flights we took afterwards to Sri Lanka, followed by a gorgeous stay in the blue waters of the Maldives? Perhaps it was the short stint that I took to Tokyo? Maybe it's the fact that we're heading into yet another long weekend shortly? Whatever it is, I think that I'll be enjoying a few more weekends at home, so that I can actually catch up on my life admin stuff, while also giving my skin to recover and marinate in some high quality skincare!
While I did do some shopping during the course of my adventures, indulging in a few products that I desperately wanted to try, I will say that I was already using some excellent products that helped in prepping my skin, and flight-proofing it, making it so that my skin wasn't feeling too dry or tight when I got to my destinations. One such product that really seemed to help, and continues to work well for me now, is the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream. Given that this is whooping $171 for a large tub of cream, you'd certainly hope that this would deliver what it says it well, which is that this is meant to help revive your skin.
For the uninitiated, they are a vegan brand that is exclusive to Mecca here in Australia, which means that sadly for those of us who love the brand, particularly this cream, it doesn't tend to come any cheaper than this, but trust me when I say that it's worth every cent. This is mean to help even the skin tone, while firming, plumping and hydrating the skin. It's also supposed to soothe and smooth the skin, improving visible signs of aging. This does so with a blend of nine signal peptides comprised of amino acids, which bind moisture to the skin, helping to revive the skin, giving it that bouncy texture.
There's also pygmy waterlily stem cell extract, which is packed full of antioxidants meant to nourish and replenish the skin, helping to fight off free radicals that can wreak havoc. It's also great for claming the skin, while keeping it moisturised and supported. Additionally, there's also soybean folic acid ferment extract, and this is meant to help maintain the elasticity of the skin, so that it can keep it's supple bounciness. Last but not least, there's also acetyl glutamine to soothe and strengthen the skin, and this all comes in a white jar with a green lid.
There is a small opening when you remove the lid, and to get the product out, simply push down on either side of the opening and it oozes out nicely. I find about two pumps to work well for my skin, and it's really easy to love, because this doesn't interact with any other bits of skincare, nor does it take long for this to be absorbed. My skin feels moisturised without resulting in a grease patch, and I also find that this seems to keep my face looking plump and firm. It's a stunner that supports what I already have, and keeps it well maintained. It's a cream that I'll definitely be finishing! What are you loving from Drunk Elephant?
