Review: Me Today Advanced Gentle Collage Exfoliant

Happy Sunday, my darlings! This weekend has been activity packed, and I can't wait until I have a moment to relax today. I'm hugely into musicals, and I had the luck to go to Lion King last night and it was everything I thought it was going to be - gorgeous, colourful and vibrant! But, that was last night, and my focus is on today, and how my skin is recovering and resting for the week ahead. I've been indulging in a bit of a post holiday immersion, so that I can look forward to the next break, by using products that I bought on a previous trip. Tell me I'm not the only that does that! This round, I'm all about the brand Me Today, which I discovered on a recent trip to New Zealand!

I was poking around Chemist Warehouse, just doing a little comparison shoppy shop, when I saw that they had a range with cute pastel shades for their packaging, and knew I had to try something from them! I have a certain fondness for New Zealand brands - they seem to often have a focus on powerful ingredients, and sustainability. Me Today is no exception! The range is cruelty free and packed with antioxidants, botanicals and vitamins. The Advanced Gentle Collagen Exfoliant stood out to me, mostly because I was keen on a scrub, and it came in a small jar, and I thought that it was perfect for my purposes.

This cleanser uses natural jojoba beads to exfoliate the skin, and it's said to help remove dead skin cells, while also being great for stimulating collagen production, so that your skin can be left feeling plump, smooth and firm. It comes packaged in a small lilac jar with rounded edges, and it's very easy to unscrew, yet secure with the lid on. The cleanser itself looks to be a creamy paste, and the little jojoba beads are well distributed and packed into the formula - each scoop gives you a decent amount of beads every time.

To use this, simply dip a finger into the pot and scoop out a small amount (about a 10 cent piece size) and pop onto the skin, adding a little bit of water to it to make it easier to massage into the skin. Work it into the face in rotational strokes, and let it help you take the day away. I love how creamy the formula is, and how bouncy and hydrated my skin feels after washing this off. The jojoba beads are lovely and gentle on my skin, and it doesn't feel scratchy or abrasive on the skin at all. It's actually amazing just how soft and moisturised my skin feels right afterwards.

It does make sense in that it has jojoba oil and kiwi seed oil as part of the formula, which can explain why my skin seems to love it so much and reacts well to it. This is a vegan formula, which means that just about everyone can use it! And don't despair if you're based in Australia - you can find it online over here. There's even free shipping if you spend over $40! I would be keen to explore the rest of the range, and this is what I'd call a good start. When trying a new brand, what product is your go to?
