Review: Ego SunSense Anti-Ageing Lotions with SPF 50+ *

I know that for many of us, using SPF is probably secondary to our nature. We get up, we get going, and we get to slipping, slapping and slopping it on. For years, I used only SPF 15, and that was it! Now that I'm older, and presumably wiser, I've been slathering the SPF on like it's going out of style.

The hardest thing was finding anything higher than SPF 15 way back when, but I'm happy to report that this is no longer the case! Nowadays, we are spoiled for choice, and I'm pleased to discuss two little lovelies from Ego Sunsense that I currently adore!

I love Summer, but that is also the season where your makeup slides, shifts and basically melts off your face. While this may not prevent it, it may certainly give you a head start on staying matte and not converting into a giant shine monster!

This bottle contains 100 ml of product and has a screw cap that is easy to remove. The lotion itself is fairly liquidy and is said to have an invisible tint finish, which would explain why the lotion does look quite pale beige.

This gets absorbed quite well, and certainly doesn't look streaky under my makeup. I have also found this to have, as advertised, a bit of a matte finish, but doesn't leave you looking cakey.

This is the upgraded version of the SunSense lotion I was using before - they have stepped up their game and it now has a higher SPF than it used to, so yay! Like it's matte friend above, it also comes in a 100 ml bottle with a screw cap. This gets absorbed quite well, and doesn't interact with my makeup application process.

What I love about them is that they both contain SPF 50+ and also have UVA and UVB sun protection, which, in Australia, which makes this an incredibly necessary item to have! These are both meant to be fragrance free, but they do have a hint of sunblock to them. They are also chock full of AHAs, Vitami E and B3!

What are you reaching for this Summer? Have you tried these lovelies out before?

  1. ooh, the tinted one with a matte finish sounds interesting.. I absolutely love the other one, it's just like a lotion, none of that greasy sunscreen feels or looks. Will definitely be picking another bottle up for the warmer weather x
