Review: Pantene Pro V Nutrient Blends Illuminating Colour Care Treatment

Would you believe me if I told you that I once used to stick to the same shampoo and conditioner, and I never changed it? Instead, I stocked up on the same brand, and for the longest time, the same type and I was basically a real creature of habit about what I wanted to use on my hair. It was about the same time that I didn't think that using a different brand, or trying to target a specific hair issue truly made a difference, and boy, was I wrong!

You should always admit when you're wrong, and in this instance, I most certainly was. Don't get me wrong, it really suited my needs at that point in time, I was simply a skeptic that didn't believe that using a product to deal with certain needs would truly make a difference. That brand, of course, was Pantene, and I have very fond memories of the brand. Once I started trying new brands, new textures and new ranges, I drifted away from Pantene, but I was tempted into making a purchase on Priceline recently, and it has been such a great way to ease back into using Pantene!

The Pantene Pro V Nutrient Blends Illuminating Colour Care Treatment caught my eye with it's beautifully floral design, complete with a shiny gold background. This is meant to help nourish colour treated hair, and in doing so, help rescue hair from colour damage. It's also supposed to transform hair, so that it becomes visibly healthy and vibrant. Additionally, this high intensity hair treatment is said to repair the hair against breakage.

Each box contains three tubes, with each tube holding 15 ml of product. For people with shorter hair, or less damaged hair, than what I have, you might be able to get away with using just half an ampoule, but for me, I find an entire tube of it to work best for me. It's simple to use - just shampoo and condition your hair as usual, then apply this to your hair from mid-length to the ends, allowing it to sit for a bit before washing it out. I love that this reduces frizz, and makes my hair look shinier, while also feeling softer. I love that it also allows my hair to feel quite light and not at all weighed down.

For a Pantene product, I found it to be surprisingly expensive at just under $18 for this three pack, but given that my hair seems to do well with it, I feel like it's worth the price tag, even when it's full priced. That said, Pantene often goes on sale, including currently Chemist Warehouse for just $5.50! For that price, it's hard to turn it down, so you should definitely pick up a pack and see how your hair feels about it! Are you a Pantene girlie?
