Review: Ceremonia Guava Rescue Spray
I think that if you were to look at my hair care and body care, and indeed, skincare time line, you'd see that somewhere along the way, over the years, I started leaning closer and closer towards oils as the mainstay of my beauty routine, and eventually turned into a puddle of oil. Just kidding! But seriously, oils started featuring heavily in my regular routine over time, so it's a big deal when I say that I'm reverting back to a different sort of formulation, and I have to say, the Ceremonia Guava Rescue Spray has been a real treat!
So, I think when I started really destroying my hair, and living in a climate that was a lot drier than what I was accustomed to in my younger years, I gradually made the change to hair oils, because I found that it was making a difference to the dryness of my ends. However, recently, I've been doing a bit of a switch to sprays, playing around with a formulation that I used to love, and I've come to the conclusion that I do still love it! I also love a multi-tasker, and that is exactly what the Ceremonia Guava Rescue Spray is!
This cruelty free and vegan spray, both PETA and Leaping Bunny certified, works hard! It serves as a detangler, as well as a heat and UV protectant, while also strengthening the hair and providing intense hydration. This utilises guava as their key ingredient, as the name would suggest, to protect against those pesky UV rays. A mix of avocado and butterfly ginger in the formula can help with shielding against blue light, pollution and heat styling tools, up to 232⁰C.
This comes in a plastic bottle with a clear pull off cap, and the pump produces a fine misting spray that covers the desired section of hair nicely. I love that this is light on the hair, and doesn't leave it feeling like it's covered in anything, nor does it end up feeling heavy or greasy. I've noticed that my hair has quite a bit of body to it, as well as bounce, but there isn't any additional shine to it, and the ends of my hair remain a little dry.
While it's a great product, I do think that I'd continue using this, but not on it's own. Instead, it's probably best for my damaged hair to get some additional love with a hair oil, and to use the Ceremonia Guava Rescue Spray as an adjunctive treatment to go with it. On it's own, it is a great product, but it's even better when combined with something else. It retails for $39 for 200 ml of product, and you can find it over here at Mecca. What's your preferred leave in hair product?
