Review: Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil

Good morning, it's Monday, and the forecast for today is that it's going to be a bright and sunny, and beautiful, day! After the relentless rain over the last 3 weeks, it's nice to actually have a moment to pause and appreciate all that the rain has brought here in Sydney, rather than scurrying from place to place, with storm clouds looming over head. Of course, there are still plenty of people dealing with the aftermath of the floods, so, please, if you can donate something, or help out in any way, shape or form, pitch in and do what you can. Ok, so, who's ready to talk skincare?

What exactly is the Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil with Glycablend, co-enzyme Q10 and tamanu? This is a plant based oil that is meant to help boost skin recovery, radiance and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It does so by utilising co-enzyme Q10 to help battle those pesky free radicals and the damage they wreck, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also has tamanu, macadamia and black caraway oils to help nourish the skin, while also refreshing it.

The trademarked complex of Glycablend is a mix of chia, blueberry, strawberry and pomegranate oils, which is so named as it's meant to help fight glycation. For those who need a refresher about what glycation is, it's basically the process that happens where the presence of excess glucose in skin fibers results in the sugar molecules adhering to the collagen and elastin proteins. These collagen and elastin proteins are present to help keep skin firm and supple, and when glycation happens, there can be more obvious signs of wrinkling, accelerated ageing and a compromised skin barrier, as well as loss of elasticity.

This comes as a beautiful, yellow oil in a dark dropper bottle, which holds 20 ml of product. It has a lovely, but mild, almost floral scent, which I love, but can't quite place. It is relatively heavy, particularly when you're a bit heavy handed with it, and can take a while to be absorbed, but when you've used the recommended dose of 2 drops per night, it doesn't take long at all, and it's been quite a lovely oil to use, even on the hot nights. I love that this oil works well on me, and my skin feels very well moisturised.

I don't know that I can claim that this has reduced the appearance of wrinkles, or that my fine lines are less obvious, but I can say that my skin feels better for having used this, and that it doesn't clog up my pores, nor does it cause any breakouts. Made in New Zealand, Trilogy is cruelty free, and supports ethical trade practices. This is available at Chemist Warehouse and other retailers that stock Trilogy, including their website, for around $40.
