Review: Essano Sensitive Support Ceramides

Essano has honestly featured so heavily in my skincare rotation, it's almost impossible to go a couple of months without talking about them, because, as you can see, here we are again! I was sent a few serum products recently, and out of all of them, I've been using the Essano Sensitive Support Ceramides, mostly because I was interested to see how something like this in the trio offered would perform.

Let's talk about what this product is supposed to do. It's meant to help improve the appearance and texture of your skin while helping to settle discomfort and soothe dry skin. Designed to tamper down reactive and delicate skin while protecting the moisture barrier, this is also supposed to help stimulate the natural protective abilities of the skin.

This made in New Zealand, vegan and cruelty free goodie relies on ceramides and their 5% Defensil-Plus formulation to look after the skin. It also has other great ingredients, such as squalene, blackcurrant seed oil, rosehip oil, vitamin E, sunflower seed oil, as well as licorice root extract and rosemary leaf extract, among others. It sounds like a very calming and moisturising blend - how does this really perform on the skin?

The product itself is a creamy white with a runny consistency - this means that despite initial appearance, this actually does spread nicely over the skin, and is absorbed within seconds. I love that this doesn't leave a tacky sensation behind, nor does it cause a white cast to be left behind. While other serums seem to work best with active ingredients that help to enhance certain features, this seems to shine by keeping things at bay, such as playing down my skin's responses/reactions to daily life, which, given the wild weather/work stress/hormones, frankly, I'm surprised my skin isn't looking out of control! I feel like I can credit some of that, at least, to this serum.

It comes in an amber bottle with a blue and white label and a dropper applicator in the cap. This little gem retails for $29.99 and for that, you'd get 20 ml of product, which means that you'd at least finish this product within a reasonable time frame, ensuring that it stays as fresh as possible while you're using it. This is available at a number of different retailers, including Priceline.
