Review: Ellis Brooklyn Myth Spectacular Scented Body Oil

It would appear that my current passion for body oils hasn't waned at all, and I've been forging, full steam ahead, working my way through as many body oils as I can possibly get my hands on! On a whim recently, I splashed out and got myself a little treat in the form of the Ellis Brooklyn Myth Spectacular Scented Body Oil.

This little guy retails for $97 for 85 ml of product, and you don't need to be strong at math to figure out that you're paying over a dollar per ml. The real question, though, is, what exactly makes this a luxe oil, and would it be worth forking the money over for? The answers are - lots of things, and yes, if you're into treating yo'self!

This cruelty free and vegan product is one of the most gorgeously scented oils I've tried for a while. It has a subtle, and beautiful scent that envelopes you, which wafts up to you the moment you unscrew the cap. This is almost addictive, with notes of bergamot, jasmine and patchouli, as well as a hint of cedarwood to round it out. There are also notes of ambrette seeds, cassis, tiger orchid, pink lotus and liquid musks, and these are all blended together to leave your skin covered in the most gorgeous fragrance.

Aside from smelling beautiful, how does it perform on the skin? It contains pumpkin see oil, which is full of antioxidants to help fight those nasty free radicals, while there is also rosehip oil, which has a number of benefits, including reducing the appearance of the signs of photo-ageing. The addition of squalene is designed to hydrate the skin while soothing inflammation.

I like that the oil is oily without being greasy - does that make sense? It's not a dry oil, but it does dry down well enough, to the point where it can leave a gentle kiss of oil behind, just enough to make it feel like you've used it, keeping that skin moisturised. For all the information regarding this glass bottle of goodness, head over to Mecca to read more about it! What did you last treat yourself to?
