Revoew: Torriden Balanceful Cica Cream
It's Thursday, and it's been so nice to get through the week with one less work day! And of course, on top of having less work this week, I'm also off on a little Jetstar jaunt of my own to keep my sanity under control, and poke around op stops this weekend, which is always a cause for celebration! There's just something about boarding a flight, sitting in that little chair, and feeling the vibrations under your feet as you slowly roll down the runway. And on the other end, when you're circling in the sky, and watching the lights twinkling beneath you... I mean, is there a better sight than that?
There may be one thing that's more significant than that particular sensation, and it is having skin that still feels smooth, soft and moisturised, even after being on a couple of plane rides. For that, I can credit my good genes and great arsenal of skincare products. One thing that I've been using regularly, so much so that I can actually see the bottom, and the sides, of the jar, has to be the Torriden Balanceful Cica Cream, which has been an unexpectedly delightful discovery this year!
For those not in the know, Torriden is a Korean skincare brand, and they have some very lovely products in their range. I gravitated towards this as I was looking for something that would help moisturise my skin without weighing it down, and thought that this would fit the bill. This is said to be a lightweight, soothing gel-cream that is meant to help keep the skin calm, while hydrating it. It's said to be cruelty free and vegan, which means that just about anyone can use this.
The formula is infused with 5D Cica Complex, which is meant to soothe and calm redness and irritation, while hydrating it deeply, and helping to strengthen the skin barrier, leaving the complexion healthier, balanced and moisturised. What exactly is the 5D Cica Complex? It's a blend of five types of Centella Asiatica-derived ingredients, and they work synergistically to heal damage and protect sensitive skin, in addition to what's already been mentioned above about keeping the skin calm. Additionally, there's also panthenol, and this is great for helping the skin barrier function, as well as keeping the skin moisturised.
This comes in a clear jar with a light green screw lid, and this has a beautiful gel cream texture, which means that it smooths onto the skin quickly and easily, and within seconds, you can barely feel it on the skin, but you can certainly tell the effects of it. This doesn't have a noticeable fragrance, and I love that my skin feels bouncy and supple, and it makes me feel like it's working on my skin throughout the day, while I'm also working. It's great for hot weather, but in the cooler, drier days, it still feels like it's doing it's job quite nicely. This retails for $35 for 80 ml of product, and I can confidently say that I'll be using this all up. It's available at various retailers, including Adore Beauty. Do you use any products from Torriden?
