Review: No 7 Hydraluminous + Cooling Eye Gel

Eyes may be the windows to the soul, but let me tell you, your eyebags would be a dead giveaway to so much more information than you would ever want anyone to know! It tells people things like the fact that you haven't slept enough that you might be way too stressed, and that you need more hydration. Of course, the good thing about skincare needs is that there is always something out there to target those concerns, and I have my current eye serum to help take care of those issues for me!

I've been using the No. 7 Hydraluminous + Cooling Eye Gel, which claims to deliver 72 hours of deep hydration, and it's supposed to give a cooling and moisturising effect straightaway on application. The formula contains a three in one complex, where there is hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and refresh the under eye area, smoothing out the fine lines, so that it can appear a little less creased in the region. Additionally, this also contains niacinamide to help strengthen the skin barrier, while there's something called Pollution Shield Technology to defend the skin against pollutants, resulting in a more radiant complexion.

I love that the hyaluronic acid in the formula has three different molecular weights, which means that this works across multiple layers of skin, drawing in moisture to help your face stay more hydrated. I also love that by helping to strengthen the skin barrier, the niacinamide can also keep the skin stay moisturised for longer. This has a simple formula that's just as easy to love as it is to use, and it all comes packaged in a 15 ml tube.

This has a screw cap that reveals a narrow nozzle, allowing the user to squeeze out the required amount without wasting any. It has a similar font to the rest of the product available from No. 7, and the colour scheme is blue and white, which, psychologically, I feel, adds to the fact that this is meant to leave a cooling effect on the skin. The gel that comes out is a very light, clear blue product, and when dabbed onto the face, it gets absorbed quickly without leaving a trace.

This doesn't have any scent to it, and while I was expecting this to give my skin a bit of a cooling sensation, it's very mild, and doesn't really add to the entire experience. I do love that this leaves my skin feeling a little more hydrated around the eyes, and I like that it doesn't interact with any other bits of skincare. It doesn't make my eye circles look any brighter, but it does help keep the skin feeling a little springier. If you're looking for a miracle in a tube, this isn't it, but it is a lovely eye gel, and may be better appreciated in the Summer. It currently retails for just under $23 and it an be found at Priceline. What's your go to eye product at the moment?
