Review: Some by Mi Retinol Bakuchiol Dual Cream

It doesn't seem to matter what country I'm in - the rain has been following me! After the thunderstorms in Singapore, and the grey skies here in Sydney, and days of soggy socks, I'm really hoping for a bit of watery sun to peep through the clouds this week! Still, I'm not much for a social life, particularly in the Winter - I'm really more of a indoor cat - and at this point, I'm already looking forward to heading home and carrying out my night time skincare routine, particularly given that I've got the Some by Mi Retinol Bakuchiol Dual Cream waiting for me!

If you've seen the Some by Mi brand around, but are at a loss as to what products to pick up, let me help you out with that. You can find my previous post on them over here, and I also have a few other products that I've been working through that I'll be writing up shortly, so stay tuned! What exactly was it about this Korean beauty brand that caught my eye, and why should you be interested? The Some by Mi Retinol Bakuchiol Cream contains a blend of retinol, retinal and bakuchiol, and this comes as two separate creams that are dispensed in a swirl with just one squeeze!

This dual-colour cream is meant to improve skin texture, while also  helping skin elasticity and the appearance of pores in one fell swoop. The retinol and retinal are contained in the yellow formula, and these are supposed to help keep the skin plump, encourage cell regeneration, as well as boost collagen production. The purple cream is infused with bakuchiol, which is meant to improve skin firmness, keep the skin moisturised and encourage a smoother skin texture. Additionally, the formula also contains ceramide, squalene and panthenol, which can help keep the skin moisturised, soothe and calm irritation, while also reinforcing the skin barrier.

This has a dual chamber design and comes in a purple tube with a removable cap. Once squeezed, this produces the two creams that come out as a swirl. It's s surprisingly light cream that doesn't leave much of a trace behind once it has been massaged into the skin. It actually doesn't feel like you have anything obvious on the skin, and I like that it does give my skin a bit of a glowy sheen. This doesn't have a discernible scent to it, and it's comfortable on the skin. I don't think that this is a massive game changer for me, but I do feel like it helps in keeping my skin looking bright.

One downside is that I have noticed that this does occasionally react with some of my other skincare products, which means that it can pill sometimes. It's a little annoying, but I have figured out what this does and doesn't work with, and at this point, I'm working around it. I love that this is vegan, which means that it's quite inclusive for just about everyone! This is currently available for between $28 to 38 online, so make sure you shop around to find the best price you can for your budget! Is this something that you'd like to try?
