Review: RMS Legendary Lip Oil

Happy Sunday, my loves! So, I'm very excited to be spending the day with one of my besties and her kids, simply just hanging out, catching up and shooting the shit, you know? It also helps that Sydney is having a public holiday this weekend, and that we get to go to something called Vivid, which is an annual light show that happens in the Winter here, which can be very pretty. I wasn't planning to go this year, but I'm actually a little excited about it, because as much as I'm loathed to be out and about in the cold, it will be a gorgeous walk, and the kids will love it!

Of course, when it comes to dark and cold here in Sydney, it also means that it'd be quite drying to the skin. This means that while I'm all rugged up and staying warm, and trying to be stay as moisturised as possible beneath my clothes, I would be exposing areas such as my lips to bear the brunt of the weather. Thankfully, I have just discovered something new to me that leaves the lips feeling soft and looking gorgeous, and I'm very happy to be sharing that with you guys, and in this case, I'm talking about the RMS Legendary Lip Oil! This is said to give you a glossy finish, as well as sheer coverage with a wash of colour, and it's also meant to be vegan.

This comes in a deceptively teeny tube, which, when I first looked at it, I thought, surely not for $43, but once I tried it on, I was very pleasantly surprised, and I am now tempted to get more shades, but more on that later. So what is it and why should you try this? This is a hydrating lip oil that's meant to nourish the lips, while delivering shine and colour, all while staying non-sticky, which honestly sounds like a dream. This uses bitter cherry seed oil, which is rich in antioxidants, to help revitalise, smooth, hydrate and condition the skin, and there's also vanilla extract, which is meant to be aromatic and soothing. There's also the RMS adaptogenic herbal blend, which is a proprietary blend of nine adaptogenic herbs that should be helpful for balancing, hydrating, soothing and softening the skin. Last but not least, it also contains organic jojoba oil, which is filled with antioxidants, and great for nourishing the skin while creating a protective barrier against environmental aggressors, as well as free radicals.

This is meant to provide up to 8 hours of hydration, while repairing the lip barrier, and boy does it ever! This comes in a total of 10 shades, and mine is in Lucia, which is described as a sweet, buttercream pink, and it is absolutely stunning on my lips. I read that it was meant to give you a hint of colour, but I found this to be surprisingly pigmented. It almost looks like it plumps up my lips without actually plumping it, if you know what I mean. I also think it's a cute tube, this matte packaging, containing a large doefoot applicator, making it easy to spread the lip oil across the lips.

It has a semi sweet scent to it, which does not distract from the product at all, and I love that this feels really comfortable on the lips. I actually forgot that I was wearing it when I first tried it out, until I caught sight of my lips in a mirror that I was passing by, and I was taken aback by how noticeable it looked on me. This is a very comfortable lip oil to wear, and it absolutely isn't sticky at all. While it isn't cheap for what you get, this is absolutely worth it, from my perspective. Overall, it's a thumbs up for me, and it's now available from Mecca. What would you recommend from RMS?
