Review: Clio Kill Lash Superproof Volume Curling Mascara

I don't know about you, but makeup can be a tricky business for me some days! There are times when I get carried away and end up wearing a little bit too much, and it shows. You know when you start off with something that you think is going to be subtle and then things get out of hand, and then it gets really intense and it's too late to turn that boat around? Yeah, I've been there before, on multiple occasions! At other times, I've gone a little bit too low-key, trying to dial things back, and the makeup ends up being far more subtle than it should be. Getting the balance right can be hard sometimes!

The one thing that's a constant, however, is that no matter how much or how little I have on my face, I always have mascara as part of the routine, even when I have falsies on. Much like my finishing spray, it's part of my routine, and my face looks almost a little naked without it, even though, classically, mascaras haven't been the most impactful part of my look, and that is primarily down to the type of lashes that I was born with. Due to the fact that I have Asian lashes, my lashes have been very straight for most of my life, and much like the hair on my head, they don't tend to hold a curl very well, resulting in massive smudging issues.

That said, having a lash lift can make a huge difference to how my lashes look, and subsequently, the finished product of my makeup process, and when I'm going low key, my lifted lashes, coupled with a great mascara, can be a whole look in itself. The first thing to be aware of, if you're looking to purchase the Clio Kill Lash Mascara, is that this comes in a whole range to suit your needs. There are five different mascaras in the collection, going from Slim Fixing, to Long Curling, then Volume Curling, followed by Sleek Volume, and finally, Extreme Volume, which, I have say, is the one that I'm going to have try next.

I've been loving the Clio Kill Lash Superproof Mascara, and this particular mascara is said to be great for volume and curling, and take it from me, this is totally a little miracle maker! It comes in a matte black slim case, and has red and white accents on it. The wand is very petite, and this ensures that I'm sufficiently able to coat each lash nicely, so I can get the lashes to fan out. While this does not produce a very dramatic result, I like that this actually make enough of a difference to my lashes for them to be noticed, and it appears to be clump free.

Additionally, I'm totally nuts about the fact that this has never, ever resulted in smudging around my eyes, which means that I've never experienced that old racoon face that I had to put up with when I was in my clubbing era. And let me tell you, the mascara is definitely on the lashes, because I need to remove it using both micellar water and cleansing oil! This Kbeauty mascara is no more expensive than the brands that are readily available at drugstores, and it sits around $19. What's your current favourite mascara and why?
