Review: Phlur Missing Person Body Oil
It's Sunday, which means that we've reached our slow down stage of the week, and this means that I'll be reeling it back a bit and taking a moment for myself to relax. I'm just kidding, that's literally all I've been doing for the last few days! By the time you're reading this, I'd have been on a break for at least the last 5 days, including a mini break from Singapore to Batam, where I'd be eating, shopping and generally just being a sloth on holidays.
That said, no matter what point I'm at during all this, I know that I'll still be moisturising my body, no matter how hot, how sweaty and how humid it might be - what can I say, I'm a creature of habit! And while I'm trying to stay moisturised, in amongst all of the moisture, which feels a little ironic, I will also be missing my latest body oil, which is the Phlur Missing Person Body Oil, which I purchased on a whim from Mecca and honestly can't get enough of! For those who are interested, you can find it over here on their website.
This body oil retails for $74 for 120 ml of smooth deliciousness, and it does as the label says it should - it's both hydrating and soothing, and this silky fluid will have your skin feeling soft and gorgeous. Phlur is primarily known for their exquisite scents, and while there are other products in the range, such as deodorants, there are only two body oils available here in Australia. This one features an incredibly popular scent, Missing Person, which is meant to evoke that lasting scent of your lover's skin. This body oil has a number of key ingredients, including Vitamin C oil, which is designed to help brighten the skin, and it also contains skin-mimicking lipids that can help the skin barrier. Additionally, this has floral oils, including rosehip, paramela and jojoba, which are all steeped in ceramides.
Of course, this blend of oils is infused with a mix of seductive scents, starting off with notes of fresh musk, bergamot and jasmine. It trails off and turns into the citrus harmonies of orange flower, neroli blossom and fresh cyclamen. This then ends with the warmth of sandalwood, blond wood and white musk. Altogether, this has a very rich, almost amber headiness to it, and I find that this lingers on the skin, so that I catch little bits of it every time I shift around.
This is an oily oil, which means that a little bit can go a very long way, which suddenly makes the price tag look all the more reasonable. I find that I don't need very much at all to keep my skin moisturised, and it's been lovely for keeping away that little patch of scaly skin on the shins. I like the packaging quite a lot too, given that this comes as a rose coloured liquid in a translucent bottle with a fat white cap and a good pump, which fits in with the rest of the range. Is this a body oil that you'd be keen to try?
