Review: Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I've been doing a little bit of travelling once again, and it's GLORIOUS! I mean, it really is just the most wonderful thing to get back on a plane, and sail into the skies. I've really missed it, and there is nothing quite like the promise of an adventure to get you off your bum, and get exploring! That said, there is one thing that I haven't missed at all, and that is the issues that we encounter when we fly - namely the toll that it takes on our skin!

First things first, just because you're on a plane doesn't mean that you can neglect your SPF products - it's actually really important that you continue to wear it, particularly if you're a window seat babe. Those UV rays will find you! Secondly, if you're doing a long haul trip, or indeed, if you're getting on a plane at all, but especially if you're doing a long haul trip, then you're probably going to run into some dry skin issues.

Thankfully, we can remedy that it the aptly named Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask! This little baby is a vegan, fragrance free mask that is designed to hydrate, nourish and soothe the skin. It contains niacinamide to help the skin barrier, while also calming and balancing the skin, as well as glycerin and hyaluronic acid to plump it up, in addition to being full of antioxidants to help fight against all the damaging free radicals in daily life. To help soothe stressed skin, there is also a blend of allantoin, bisabolol, panthenol and cucumber extract.

This is a multi-tasking mask, which means that it can be used to as a moisturiser, a face mask, or just a little pick me up mid-flight! This comes in a blue metal tube, which stays depressed when pressure is applied, and a small white screw cap that is a little fiddly to use. It's available in two sizes - 28g and 64g, going for $39 and $74 respectively at Mecca. This comes out of the tube as a white cream, which, if applied as a thin layer, cannot be seen on the skin. I have mostly been using this as a mask, however, so I tend to smear a liberal amount on my face.

I particularly love this mask when my face has been out in the cold and dry weather a lot, and it could use some downtime to recuperate from the blustery freezing winds outside. This helps in keeping my skin feeling smooth and hydrated, allowing it to get through another day outside, exposed to the elements. While not earth shattering, I feel like this makes for a great staple product - something that you need to keep in reserve so that you can trot it out to help maintain your skin and see it through the cold months. Have you tried the Jet Lag Mask?
