Review: Dr Naomi Catfish Eye Cream

Happy Monday! Depending on what kind of weekend you had, you're either super duper well rested, or you're in need of some help to look like you are, so that you can present your best face to set the tone for the week. The one thing that always gives away how much, or how little, sleep you've had, is the skin around your eyes, and your eyes themselves. This means that every time I need to look awake, this is what I have to sort out first.

This promises to tighten, plump and reduce the appearance of dark circles, blurring out imperfections so that you can look bright eyed and bushy tailed, like the woodland creature you no doubt aspire to resemble. Or I do, at least - I mean, they look so cute all the time, and perky, who wouldn't want to be just like them? With this vegan and cruelty free formulation, you can now get that little bit closer  to looking well rested.

This uses hyaluronic acid microspheres that expand to 30 times their volume, upon contact with the skin, within an hour of application, and through this, it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Organic kangaroo paw extract is responsible for encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, and this is supposed to help tighten the skin, while a proprietary blend of brightening ingredients and peptides can assist in reducing the look of dark circles and a more even skin tone.

This comes in an interesting packaging - it's designed kind of like a clicky pen, in that you pull the cap off, and press down on the bottom, and the product comes out through the top. I was surprised by the texture of this initially when I opened it, as it's relatively granular, and quite thick. You're meant to use this over your serum and your face cream, as the final step, prior to getting your makeup on. While it might feel like tapping this into your skin is a little futile, I promise you, it's all worth it as you work it into your face!

About 10 minutes after applying this, I can start to see a difference already, in that the skin looks smoother and the dark eye circles are less obvious. I don't know that this has an ongoing knock on effect, but I do feel that this seems to work well in the moment, and this has become my daily morning eye cream.
