Review: Keep It Simple Skin It's Only Fair Get Even Anti-Pigment Serum

It's time to talk about one of my favourite steps in skincare, and that is the all important active ingredient that I like to sandwich between cleansing my face, and the final seal of the face cream. I'm talking about the awesome serum, of course! It's the time when you get to pick what actives you'd like to target specific issues, and there's a lot of options out there! I've been really into the Keep It Simple Skin It's Only Fair Get Even Anti-Pigment Serum, and it is a surprisingly complex tube for something that has simple in the name.

What's the story behind Keep It Simple Skin? This brand is all about streamlining your skincare routine, so that it takes the guesswork out of what you need to get. It also allows you to pick products according to what skincare goals you're hoping to achieve. They claim to do this by delivering just the benefits you need, rather than trying to cram too much in at once.

I also like that this is another brand that is conscious of their impact on Mother Earth, and are dedicated to making their products vegan and sustainable. Additionally, they also use recycled materials in the packaging, which are recyclable in return. On top of that, they also shuffle 1% of their sales, not their profits, to environmental charities, to try and offset what they cannot control. Granted, that sounds very vague, and it doesn't go into details of what they can or cannot control, and 1% isn't very much, but it's a good start at recognising that we need to be better at protecting our planet.

This comes in a purple tube with a cap that you have to unscrew, and it's designed with a long nozzle to get the product out. Aside from making it so that you can get the right amount out that works for you, this is also so that you can titrate it to get the balance correct when you're using it in conjunction with other products in the range ie the number of drops you need to add to whatever product you're wanting to give a boost to.

The tube itself is made of 35% recycled plastic, and the serum itself is green, and has a thin consistency. It spreads really well on the skin, and it uses the combined power of tertrapeptide-30, tranexamic acid, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and silver to help with hydrating, brightening and protecting the skin from environmental stressors with a reduced amount of preservative in the product. Absorption takes no time at all, and while I haven't noticed any reduction in my hyperpigmentation, my skin does look relatively luminous. I find this to be gentle on my skin, and for $49, this is relatively decent and worth a try. You can read all about it over here
