Review: I'm From Honey Mask
There was a time when I was obsessed with honey! Wait, gimme a minute, let's take a step back. I get textural obsessions from time to time. By that, I mean I get fixated on certain types of food, depending on their flavour, taste and/or texture. It becomes something that I have to, that I NEED to eat, until one day, I get sick of it, and I can't eat it again for ages. I mean, I don't think I've had a honey and crunchy peanut butter sandwich for quite a few years, but every now and then, I get really tempted to have some honey and butter on a hot piece of toast!
That said, I think I last consumed one of those a couple of years back, but honey in skin care form, well, that's a different story altogether! I'm From is a Korean beauty brand that I think a lot of us are aware of, and possibly familiar with, and you can find my previous post about them over here. I like that the brand seems to utilise the active ingredients from certain vegetables and edible things for their range, like rice, beet, ginseng and honey, harnessing their power to help keep the skin at it's happiest, and this is no exception, with their honey range. While I'm not quite ready to eat it again, I'm more than happy to apply this to my skin!
I purchased this while I was skulking around online recently, and I honestly wish I'd bought the large jar of 120g, rather than the little 30g tube! This is a mask that contains 38.7% Natural Mouth Jiri Honey from South Korea, and this is designed to help hydrate the skin, while also improving the texture of the skin. It's also supposed to help soothe and calm irritated and inflamed skin, given that this has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, so that you can have comfortable, happy skin.
Additionally, the mask also has propolis and jojoba seed oil, which are meant to help keep the skin balanced and moisturised. This has the texture of whipped honey, which is quite creamy and thick, and I love that this spreads in exactly the same way - in fact, when I ate this for the first time, all I could think about was how great it would taste with lots of butter! Of course, once I washed it off, I wasn't quite as hungry for it anymore, but my skin certainly was!
To use this, simply apply this all over the face and let it sit for 10 minutes before washing it off. This feels comfortable on the skin, and I barely even notice that it's there. Once it has been washed off, my skin actually seems to be quite calm, which, when the weather is whipping the skin up into a frenzy, is very much appreciated. I like to reach for this on days when my skin is feeling a little tight and irritated, to help soothe it. If you're looking to pick this up for yourself, you can head to Boniik and grab it at 50% off, making the small tube just $7.50, and the large jar only $30! What's your preferred edible ingredient for skincare?
