Review: By Rosie Jane Calm Body and Bath Oil
We are just about in the middle of Winter, and I'm so here for it! Am I the only person who gets incredibly excited that the shortest day of the year has been and gone, and that the days can only get longer from this point onwards? Sure, we're still in the thick of it, and Winter is still happening, but there's now that hint of hope in the air, despite it still being cold and dark, because the evenings are starting to get longer again! One thing that I could certainly do without, however, is that pesky rain that's been keeping all my clothes damp, and making it all a little mildewy.
I also think it's ridiculous how everything is so moist, except for my skin, but thankfully, that's an easy one to combat! I've been using the By Rosie Jane Calm Body and Bath Oil, and this has been so deliciously silky on my skin! This is a nourishing body oil that's meant to help restore and soothe the skin, and the emotions to some extent! It's a good way to round out the day, and you can choose to either luxuriate in it while ruminating over your day, as you're soaking in the tub, or apply this all over the body to help boost your moisture levels, before getting cosy in your pyjamas.
This has kakadu plum oil, which is steeped in Vitamin C, as well as antioxidants, and it's meant to help hydrate, brighten and keep the skin balanced. There's also organic olive oil, which can deeply hydrate the skin, keeping it soft, while aiding in strengthening the skin's barrier. Additionally, it has rosehip oil, as well as coconut oil, and these steeped in Vitamins A and C, and essential fatty acids, making them fantastic for soothing and nourishing the skin, while encouraging skin regeneration and healing.
On top of all that, this is scented with lavender, chamomile and neroli, all combined to help soothe and calm the senses, giving an overall feeling of ease and equilibrium. This oil comes packaged in a plastic amber bottle with a flip lid, allowing for easy pouring of the oil, so that you can get out sufficient product to cover the skin of the body. While it's an oily oil, it's not excessively so, and you can easily make it a little less greasy by using this sparingly. This has a beautiful texture, and I like that doesn't seem to make my skin feel sticky.
What I do think that this doesn't seem to help with, though, is that it's actually been making my skin a little too soft and slippery to do pole dancing! I have noticed, since starting this, that my skin hasn't been gripping onto the pole quite as well, which suggests to me that my skin has been quite moisturised, thanks to the oil! Sitting at $51 for 125 ml of product at Sephora, it's a little pricey, so while I've enjoyed using it, I might not necessarily repurchase this. For those who are keen, you can find them over here. Have you tried any of their body oils?
