Review: Emma Lewisham Supernatural Blemish Face Serum

Emma Lewisham continues to surprise and impress me with their innovation. For anyone needing a quick refresher on the brand, this is a New Zealand based brand that is truly green, in that all of their products are circular, which means that they are all refillable, and their refillable packaging reduces carbon emissions by up to 74%. This means that you can return your empty skincare to them for refilling or recycling, thus reducing the need for new materials when putting products on the market. Additionally, they are cruelty free and vegan, as well as being B corp certified and climate positive certified!

On top of everything else, if the above claims haven't swayed you into trying Emma Lewisham products, you may be persuaded by the products themselves, which are divine and well worth your time. To read past reviews, you can click here, here and here and find out more about some of the products I've loved from previously. This time, I went for something a little different and tried the Supernatural Blemish Serum. Made to help even skin tone, de-congest the skin, while also soothing irritation, this anti-blemish serum is rather unique.

It uses patented, live skin-strain probiotic, Micrococcus luteus, where it delivers 350 million live probiotic cells per pump, thereby helping manage blemishes by keeping the skin balanced by inhibiting bad bacteria and preventing them from doing mean things to your skin. This probiotic is meant to flourish on the skin, giving the skin ongoing benefits from the serum. If you're concerned that you may introducing something novel, it actually is a probiotic strain that naturally lives on human facial skin and this is basically like you swallowing a probiotic capsule for your gut health.

This comes as a dual serum, where you have to turn it clockwise to pop one side out, and anti-clockwise to get the other one out, and there's 30 ml on either side. While that may seem simple, it's definitely not designed for wet hands, as it's very tricky to maneuver when your hands are slippery. One side has a thinner serum, while the other side has a creamier and thicker product, but they both mix nicely, and they thin out easily, getting absorbed within a minute. I've been having some interesting breakouts around my nose recently, specifically on the right side, and this has been legitimately helpful for keeping my skin happy.

I've definitely seen less inflammation and white heads in the area since I started using this, and it seems to work well with the other skincare products that I've been piling on it. It's definitely another winner from Emma Lewisham for me! This retails for $135, and considering that you'll get about 60 ml of product in total, that feels like quite a decent bargain! Sure, you have to use both of them each time, but it does still feel like a decent price to pay for what you get. This is available at Mecca, and you can find it over here. What's your favourite anti-blemish product?
