Review: ColorWow Money Mist

There's a reason why they talk about your hair being your crowning glory. I spend a lot of time obsessed with my hair, and yet somehow, I still manage to mistreat my hair massively by stripping it of it's colour harshly, going over the same strands of hair repeatedly with a variety of different colours, and torturing it with multiple hot hair tools. That said, like most things in life, I do recognise that looking after my hair is a bit of a push-pull compromise situation, and while I do treat my hair rather poorly at times, I also make a lot of effort to look after it by nourishing and feeding it with various lotions, potions and sprays, such as the ColorWow Money Mist!

I feel like I'm a little late to the ColorWow game! The name seems to keep coming up on social media, and I thought I'd try out the ColorWow Money Mist, which I felt was most appropriate for my needs. It's a detangler that comes in the form of a spray, and it's meant to help reduce breakage, while also being a heat protectant and a UV protectant. It's supposed to be a lightweight spray that doesn't weigh the hair down. This is said to be great for moisturizing and reducing frizz, so that you can end up with smooth, silky hair that looks health.

It's meant to be appropriate for all hair types, plumping up fine hair for a bit of extra body, softening coarse strands and smoothing out frizzy tresses for a silky finish. It fortifies damaged strands and hydrates dry hair, making it less brittle. Money Mist contains 'adaptive technology', which means that this is supposed to adjust to what your hair needs, due to the diversity of the size of molecules, the molecular weight and type of ingredients found in the formula. This means that it's supposed to nourish each fiber with the right level of peptides, hydration and conditioning it takes to smooth, strengthen and moisturise the hair.

It also has proprietary technology, something called baolyzed amino complex, which is supposed to penetrate the hair shaft with ease, increasing the hair's strength, elasticity and bounce by supporting crystal formation, when the hair cortex's crystalline interior is wrecked. It comes in a vibrant, aqua blue bottle with a clear pull off cap, and a nozzle that releases a mist of product with each push. To use this, I start with damp hair, and spray it liberally over my head, allowing it to cover my hair.

I find it easy to coat my hair with this, and I comb it through a little bit to spread it more evenly over the strands. I love that this is cruelty free and vegan, and this does an amazingly good job at actually making my hair feel soft, except for where it's so damaged and it's resulted in split ends. It doesn't weigh it down at all, and rather, this does leave my hair with a bit of body, a bit of bounce and also some shine. It's very likeable, and if you're wanting to try out the smaller bottle for yourself, it's $26.95 for 50 ml of product. Available now on Adore Beauty, among other retailers. What do you use as a leave in conditioner?
