Review: Cetaphil Healthy Renew Revitalising Eye Serum

When it hits the colder months of the year, I tend to see a bit of a slow down at work, which means that I'm not quite run off my feet as much as I could be otherwise. That said, it doesn't get completely quiet (which is the biggest no-no word to ever be said in clinic!), but it does give me a chance to catch my breath sometimes and allow for me to do my follow up calls and emails without feeling pressed for time. Now that we're starting to ramp up to Spring, however, things are starting to come in full bloom, and taking to make sure I get enough shut eye is getting increasingly harder.

That just means that I have to start faking looking more bright eyed and bushy tailed than I actually feel, and we all know what that means - an eye cream or serum that does all the heavy lifting! Cetaphil is a reliable brand in our household and one that my husband has used for years, and I've always found them to have a decent range. I picked up the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Revitalising Eye Serum recently on a whim, while browsing through Adore Beauty, and I bought it on the basis of this being a soothing and hydrating eye serum that's meant to help reduce the puffiness, dark circles and fine lines, so that you can be left with refreshed and brightened skin.

This comes in a white bottle with a rose gold cap that clips on securely, and each pump delivers a small amount of product that's enough for the skin around an eye. It has a lightweight, non greasy formula that makes it easy for the user to tap it into the skin. It's also designed to improve the skin's barrier, so that it can withstand environmental aggressors better. This has the added benefit of being suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

There are a few key ingredients in the eye serum to help you reach those goals, and they include niacinamide for enhancing the skin barrier, brightening dark circles and improving skin tone, while panthenol is great for soothing and hydrating skin. There's also botanical extracts for calming and revitalising the skin, and purified peptides as a retinol alternative for smoothing and firming the area. This doesn't have an obvious fragrance, and I love that doesn't leave the skin feeling tacky.

I find this to be best for keeping the skin hydrated, but it falls short when facing up to the extra baggage that one might expect to find if you're able to fly business class, but would prefer to not have under your eyes. This has helped a little with my fine lines and above all, I appreciate that this doesn't react with any other products that I layer on my skin. This retails for $34.99 for 15ml of product, and you can find it over here at Adore Beauty, as well as at other stores that carry Cetaphil. What's the first Cetaphil product you tried?
