Review: Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Shimmering Body Oil

There came a time this Winter that body oils alone were not cutting it for my skin at all. I was finding small patches of rough, dry skin over certain areas of my body where my pants and tops were rubbing, and I ended up needing to layer body lotion over my body oil, so that I could reduce that itchy, uncomfortable sensation that I was experiencing with my sad Winter skin. Thankfully, I've managed to get over the bump, and my skin is back to feeling a lot more normal again, now that we're sailing towards smoother weather.

I must have had Summer on my mind when I went on my shopping spree recently, because I couldn't resist picking up the Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Shimmering Body Oil, which l purchased as I felt like it would be perfect way to welcome in the new season! This promises to give you a year round, sun-kissed glow, while also helping nourish the skin over your body, so that you can be left with moisturised, smooth skin that shines.

This comes in a clear bottle that you can admire the oil through, watching swirls of pearlescent minerals and natural glitter lazily mix together, and it has a pump with a little nozzle, so that you don't waste one drop by getting out more than you need. This is a dry oil, which means that this doesn't leave my skin feeling slippery and oily, and me being left paranoid that it would end up smearing everywhere. Rather, this is easy to absorb, non-greasy and has a beautiful, lightweight formula.

In addition to being gorgeous, this is has also been formulated with Australian macadamia oil, vegan squalene and coconut oil to feed and moisturise the skin, while also strengthening the skin barrier, so that it can stand up to environmental stressors better. There's also Vitamin C from Kakadu plum, so that it doesn't just give your skin an instant shimmer and shine, this has the additional bonus of perpetuating that glow, making it an ongoing thing. All that and silky skin? Absolutely!

I know it sounds a little silly, but I've worn this for myself, on days when it's been too cold to wear any less than three layers. I like knowing that beneath all that puffiness, there's glowy, gorgeous skin that soft to touch and shimmers lightly. In the sunlight, though, is where it truly shines - no pun intended! It's beautiful on my skin, and makes my skin feel beautiful. This is a true stunner, and at $50 a pop, it's not cheap, but it falls squarely into the treat yo'self category, and I would so buy it again! It's currently available at Priceline and Adore Beauty, as well as at online retailers. It makes me look forward to Summer! What's your favourite indicator of Summer?
