Review: Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux Light Pearl Eye and Lash Concentrate

Lancome is a brand that needs absolutely no introduction, and neither is this eye serum! In fact, if you've been a long term reader of the blog, then this may seem familiar to you, and that's because I dedicated a post the Pearl Eye Illuminator about six years ago, and it does have quite a similar bottle, and is seen as a complementary product to this one.

While the Pearl Eye Illuminator is meant to help reduce the puffiness seen under the eyes, improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as fortifying lashes, the Light Pearl Eye and Lash Concentrate claims to also help with the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and refreshing the eye contour, and increasing hydration to the skin. This is also meant to help improve lash vitality. As you can see, they have very similar functions, but this sounds like it is meant to do more for the lashes than the other version.

I picked up a bottle of the Lancome Advanced Genifique Yeux Light Pearl Eye and Lash Concentrate a couple of months back, and set about trying it out. Just like with the Light Pearl Illuminator, this also has an applicator that's designed to help massage the product into skin, while also lowering the skin temperature, thereby also helping with reducing the puffiness of the under eye region. Aside from the well designed applicator, this also contains arginine to help strengthen the lashes, bifidus prebiotic to promote a more balanced skin barrier, and caffeine, which is meant to aid in reducing swelling.

To use this, simply sweep it along the under eye region from side to side - start by moving it from the outer corner of the eye towards the inner corner of the eye. Once you're satisfied with that, you can move the applicator to the top of the eye contour and move it in a similar manner. This is the region just under the eyebrow. Then, go back to the under eye region and move the applicator around the skin in rotational strokes. Finally, finish it off with applying the excess serum on the lashes.

This sells for about $152 for a bottle containing 30 ml of product, and this is available where Lancome counters are located, as well as at various online retailers, including Adore Beauty and the Lancome store. I have found this to perform quite well on me! I'm happy with how well it's working for the fine lines and puffiness, but I don't feel like it does much for my eyelashes at this point. It's a little pricey for me to continue purchasing this, but it is a lovely eye serum, and I intend to finish every last drop of this. What was your last big purchase?
