Review: Raaie (Raeso) Tranquility Water Activating Mist
Did you guys feel the descend into Autumn over the weekend? Fall into fall? Break out all of your sweaters to help to you fight off the chill that came whooshing in over the last 48 hours? I think it's safe to say that Autumn is firmly here, and we now have transitional weather that will be oscillating wildly over the next month or so, before settling in for the shorter days, and bundling up becomes mandatory. In the mornings now, it can be a little fresh, which is helpful for waking up - you certainly can't keep your eyes shut and pretend it isn't happening! If that fails, however, a spritz of the Raaie Tranquility Water Activating Mist would be just as refreshing!
Raaie, which I featured over here previously, has undergone a bit of a makeover, and they are now known as Raeso. Just for a quick recap, this is a New Zealand brand that is based around the conflicting effects of the sun's rays. It's all about the good things that the sun delivers to us, like it does to plants, to grow and to get stronger. However, when it comes to the sun, it both gives and takes from us. In order to receive the helpful rays that nourish us, we also have to be prepared to shield ourselves against the negative side effects of the sun, such as those that can cause premature ageing, skin damage and ultimately, skin cancer.
The brand seems to be all about striking a balance between the good and bad, so you can enhance what you have, and really let it glow. I was given the chance to try some Raeso products a while back, and of all the once I've tried, this is truly my favourite! It's meant to be a massive boost of hydration of the skin, and it's all down to two key ingredients - the New Zealand volcanic thermal water and Aqua-Dermal Encapsulation™ in the formula.
This is supposed to keep the skin hydrated for 72 hours, all due to the multi-weight hyaluronic acid, biomimetic peptides, Kawakawa leaves, Manuka water and gluconolactone. All of this comes in an earth toned bottle that matches with the rest of the range, and it has quite a heft to it. The cap is quite firm and holds in place nicely, yet easy to pull off. I have occasionally accidentally unscrewed the spray when pulling the cap off, due to how firmly it gets attached. Once off, however, it's easy to use, and even easier to love.
This gives my face a misting spray with each spritz, and I love that it helps my skin look fresh for hours. I don't think that it quite delivers on the 72 hours sadly, certainly not against the weather and daily assaults, but it does last for the entirety of my work day, and that's a pretty big burden to carry anyway! I also love that this is refreshing for when my skin needs a bit of a pick me up. I absolutely love this, and I'm going to get another one when this runs out! Sitting at around $120, this isn't cheap, but it is gorgeous. What's your favourite face mist?
