Review: Essano Collagen Boost Restorative Night Cream

Happy Sunday, babes! By this point, I'm over halfway through my holiday, and no doubt starting to feel a little sad that I'll be leaving paradise shortly. Let's face it - all good things must come to an end, and while going away is fun, there are also things that I look forward to having within my grasp once again. A prime example of this would be my cat - there's nothing quite as exciting as seeing his little face and kissing his little snout! That's definitely the hardest thing about being away. And of course, going home also means being surrounded by my full range of skincare and makeup products again!

Being away to me generally means having a little too much incidental sun. I tend to gravitate towards warmer holiday destinations, and even with lots of coverage and sunscreen, I can often end up with skin that feels a little dry after a bit too much time outside, and in the water. My favourite time to repair and restore my skin, of course, is at night, when I'm not out and about and doing things. It gives me a chance to wake up looking rejuvenated and refreshed, and ready to take on life! To get there, I've been using the Essano Collagen Boost Restorative Night Cream, and it has been, spoiler, a lovely experience overall!

This uses a mix of great key ingredients, including a blend of hydrolysed collagen, which is meant to help firm and smooth skin, and plant peptides for stimulating collagen production, while also protecting against collagen loss. It also contains jojoba and rosehip oils, which steeped in essential fatty acids and great for helping to nourish the skin. All of that is packaged into a small frosted jar with a screw lid that's easy to take off, while still being quite secure.

The cream has a medium consistency, to almost being a little runny when scooped out of the jar. This is not too heavy for my dry to normal skin, and I love that this seems to spread over the skin really nicely. I like that this isn't particularly fragrant, and that it gets absorbed without much trouble. I feel like my skin has been staying soft and looking radiant as a result of using this, which I love. What I don't love quite so much, however, is that this very occasionally seems to react with other bits of skincare, resulting in some pilling on the skin.

This has resulted in a bit of trial and error with other products, and I have found a combination that seems to work. I'm about halfway through the jar, and I'll definitely be finishing it! This retails for about $27, and you can find it where Essano is stocked, including Woolworths and Chemist Warehouse. It's an affordable face cream that seems to work well, for the most part, save the one drawback as outlined above. What's your favourite kind of night cream?
