Review: Feat by You Vitassie Vita Mellow Cushion Clay Mask
Given that I'm currently in Chicago, rugged up and trying to make sure that my toes are still connected to my body (jokes - I'll never find out, as I'm not taking my socks off the entire time that I'm here, given how freaking cold it is), it's hard to remember being in burning hot Australia, wearing just about next to nothing. It's also difficult to remember just how amazing the use of clay masks is during the warmer months, because my skin tends to run a little oilier then, and I'm often more in need of something that would help moisturise the skin when I'm somewhere cold and dry, rather than needing a mask to draw out the impurities.
Thankfully, my little break in the US is only for a very short period of time (hurray for classic reward seats on Qantas!), so while it's been amazing to see one of my favourite people and an incredibly accomplished babe (who, despite being so extremely switched on academically, can still be very down to earth and a doofus at heart, giving me hope that I'm not a total dummy), it will also be great to get back to somewhere that is warm and lovely, and where I'll be back to using my Fear by You VITassie Vita Mellow Cushion Clay Mask!
I didn't realise until recently that it's Boniik's home brand, which actually explains why it's so easy to like! I previously discussed Feat by You here and here, and I'm happy to get the chance to talk about them again! The VITassie Vita Mellow Cushion Clay Mask retails for $36 for 135 ml of product that comes in an opaque white jar with a turquoise blue lid, and this vegan, cruelty free formula is said to soften the skin, while also unclogging pores and exfoliating it. To do so, it uses bentonite and kaolin clay as it's base, which can help draw out excess sebum, clearing out clogged pores, blackheads and whiteheads.
This also has apricot seeds in it for physical exfoliation to help slough away dead skin cells and rough patches, leaving skin feeling smoother, with a more even skin texture. Additionally, this contains Kakadu Plum for that spectacular hit of Vitamin C and Tasmanian Mountain Water, which is part of their entire range. I do love a clay mask, especially when the look and feel of it remind me of cookies and cream! The mask is a surprisingly creamy clay that spreads beautifully over the skin, and I love that while this does dry down a little bit, it doesn't harden completely on the skin.
I find this best to use when I've had a long, sweaty day, and my pores are feeling a little clogged and unhappy, and in need of a deep cleanse. This is a very economically sized jar, and I love that this leaves my skin feel smoother and comfortable, and it's particularly nice around the hairline, which is where my little breakouts occur. While not a live changing face mask, it certainly is a decent one, and worth it for the price tag! What's your latest K-beauty mask?
