Review: Shakeup Cosmetics Eye Eye Captain Under Eye Concealer and Moisturiser

Merry countdown to Christmas Day, y'all! If you're anything like me, you might be gearing up to the idea of Christmas, while you're lying low on the couch, surfing through your streaming services and keeping your anxiety at bay, thinking about eating something. If you're brave, you might potentially be out there, trying to fight the hordes of bargain hunters, looking to pick up a few things from the store on the cheap, given that the Boxing Day Sales have started surprisingly early. I wish you luck if that's where you are, and may the Bargain Hunting Gods be ever in your favour!

Today on Temporary Princess, we are dabbling in a first ever experience and I'm stealing something from the guys this time and talking about Shakeup Cosmetics! As you know, makeup really has no gender, and anyone (and everyone) can use them, but sometimes, things have to be marketed a certain way to appeal to their audience, and I can safely say that the Shakeup Cosmetics Eye Eye Captain Under Eye Concealer and Moisturiser is an absolute winner, and we really should be talking about this brand more, particularly as it's available at Priceline!

Founded by China born, UK based twin brothers, Shane and Jake, Shakeup Cosmetics has a very wide range of skincare and makeup that caters to men, and is currently stocked in a whopping 1300 retail stores, including New Zealand, Norway, UK, Australia, South Africa and China, making the brand quite accessible, and at this rate, it looks like they aren't slowing down their global domination any time soon! The range is vegan and cruelty free, and it looks like their main goal is to provide the user with good skin, and subtle makeup for when your skin just isn't quite feeling up to it. They are also a B-Corp certified company, which means that they look after Mother Earth while looking after your skin!

So, the Eye Eye Captain Under Eye Concealer and Moisturiser comes in a green tube with a metal roller ball applicator that's designed to cool, massage and refresh the skin. A gentle roll of the tube allows the concealer to come out onto the applicator, while I do love the feel of the roller balls, it doesn't help with the blending of the product very much, and I find that I still need to use a brush to do so. That said, though, once the concealer has been blended into the skin, it does look very natural, and provides light coverage. It's also said that you can dab this onto the skin with fingers to help it settle

Part of the reason that it helps in giving a natural finish is that it has colour-correcting technology to help conceal dark eye circles. The formula also includes hyaluronic acid, which can help plump out the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is meant to have buildable coverage, although I've never had to test that theory. There's also the added bonus of this having SPF 25 in it. Each tube contains 15 ml of product, and I've been using this steadily for over a month, and I don't think it is even half empty at this point. I'm actually really into this concealer - it's been great for the dark eye circles, and I love that it's a hybrid product, including skincare into a concealer! Available now at Priceline and Myer for $49.99, I would highly recommend trying this if you're after something light for the Summer!
